Chelsea are reportedly keen on signing Tottenham Hotspur target and AC Milan forward Francesco Camarda, as per TEAMtalk.
The 18-year-old started his youth career at Afforese before joining the Rossoneri academy at the age of seven. After coming through their youth system, he made his first-team debut in 2023.
He holds the record as the youngest debutant in Serie A. But Camarda initially struggled to break into Milan’s starting line-up; as a result, he joined Lecce on loan last summer to play regularly and develop his career.
New Milan boss Ruben Amorim has decided to keep Camarda at the club to support Goncalo Ramos this term. However, he has found himself on the periphery.
Following his recent development, the youngster has already made his debut for the Italian national team.
Now, TEAMtalk claim that after his struggles to play regularly at Milan, several clubs across Europe have expressed their interest in signing him. Previously, Chelsea, Manchester City’s City Football Group, Liverpool and Manchester United wanted to sign him, but the youngster decided to stay at his boyhood club.
Despite failing to sign him last time around, Chelsea remain hugely keen on him. Moreover, Tottenham Hotspur, Brentford and Brighton & Hove Albion, as well as Man City’s City Football Group, have registered their interest in him.
Battle
Camarda is a 6ft 2in tall right-footed striker. He is a talented player and possesses the potential to reach the top. So, he might be a shrewd acquisition for Chelsea or Tottenham should either club purchase him.
The Blues currently have João Pedro, Danny Welbeck and Emmanuel Emegha as striker options. However, the former Strasbourg star has struggled with fitness problems, while Welbeck has reached the twilight of his career.
On the other hand, Tottenham decided to reinforce the frontline by purchasing Omar Marmoush this summer. So, the Lilywhites currently have the Egyptian plus Dominic Solanke and Richarlison as striker options.
However, the Brazilian has found himself on the periphery, while Solanke hasn’t been able to showcase his best since joining from AFC Bournemouth.
Therefore, both Chelsea and Tottenham could do with signing a new striker. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club or the West London club eventually make a move to sign Camarda.
