Liverpool keen on signing Fulham star Josh King

Liverpool have expressed interest in signing highly rated England U21 international attacking midfielder Josh King from Fulham, according to Football Insider.
King, valued at £33m by Transfermarkt, has emerged as one of England’s most promising prospects. He began his career with Fulham’s academy and was quickly integrated into the first team fold following his impressive performances at youth level.
He made his first-team debut on August 27, 2024, coming on as a substitute in the 2-0 EFL Cup win against Birmingham City. His first Premier League appearance came four months later on December 5, 2024, against Brighton & Hove Albion, and it didn’t take long for him to make his start for the club, coming on in the 0-0 draw against Southampton.
However, the 2025-26 campaign was where King enjoyed his breakthrough, featuring in 38 games for Marco Silva’s side, including 32 in the Premier League.
In the ongoing campaign, the 19-year-old has been described as an ‘unbelievable player’ under new coach Álvaro Arbeloa, playing in all five Premier League games for the Cottagers.
Despite the West London side’s slow start to the season, he has remained one of the club’s best players, with his performances catching the attention of several clubs.
One of the clubs looking to sign King is Liverpool, according to Football Insider, which claims that the Reds have joined the race for the exciting attacker.
The report adds that the Reds view the youngster as an important signing for the future, and they’re now weighing up a potential swoop in January.
While Fulham are reluctant to sanction his departure due to his importance to the team, a departure in 2027 is not ruled out due to their ongoing struggles, according to the report.
‘Unbelievable player’
As a result, Football Insider adds that Liverpool are now keeping tabs on King and could launch a swoop to sign him ahead of other rivals if he continues to impress.
Providing more information on Liverpool’s interest in King, transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke, speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, said, ‘Josh King will be on the radar for a number of clubs because of his performances for Fulham so far this season.
‘He’s been their best player with two goals in five games in the Premier League, and those performances will attract a lot of interest.’
However, Liverpool are not alone in the race, with other clubs, including Arsenal and Man Utd, set to rival the Merseyside giants over King’s signature.
‘It’s not just Liverpool who are keen; there are a number of European giants having a look at Josh King. There’s Arsenal, Man United, Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona,’ O’Rourke added.
Liverpool will hope to extend their unbeaten run when they host unbeaten table-toppers Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
