Arsenal best placed to sign RB Leipzig star Antonio Nusa

Club Brugge forward Antonio Nusa

Arsenal are best placed to sign highly rated Norwegian winger Antonio Nusa from RB Leipzig, according to Football Insider.

Ahead of the 2026-27 campaign that started in August, Arsenal were heavily tipped to bolster their frontline after a hugely successful, historic season in which they won the Premier League and reached the UEFA Champions League final.

The club made efforts and showed willingness to add at least one more attacker on the wing and at centre-forward. The need for reinforcement up front was further heightened after the departures of Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus in the summer.

However, the Gunners’ ambitious moves for Morgan Rogers and Vinicius Jr fell through, as Rogers joined Chelsea in a record-setting deal, while Vinicius opted to extend his contract with Real Madrid. The league champions ended the window with Christos Tzolis as the only attacking reinforcement in the summer.

Now, having scored the fewest goals in the top four and the second fewest in the top eight, it is clear Arsenal could do better up front, and plans to reinforce the position are already underway.

Among the options being assessed, Football Talk, citing reports, reveals that Arsenal are showing a concrete interest in Leipzig’s Nusa.

Nusa to Arsenal

The club appears to be stepping up efforts to complete the deal, as Football Insider claims the north Londoners are best placed to sign Nusa from Leipzig ahead of clubs like Newcastle United.

The report adds that Mikel Arteta’s side have placed the 21-year-old on their radar and are prepared to launch a swoop to sign him if he’s made available ahead of the January transfer window.

Providing further information on the potential figures involved in the deal, former Tottenham Hotspur scout and Norwegian football expert Bryan King revealed to Football Insider that interested clubs will need to offer a minimum of £60m to be able to sign Nusa.

Arsenal will now need to act swiftly to sign the left winger, as Football Insider reports that Premier League rivals Aston Villa are also in a strong position to sign him.

Described as ‘extraordinary’ by Erling Haaland, Nusa is having a terrific campaign for both club and country this season. With three assists and four goals in all competitions this season, the attacking ace is on course to achieve his personal best record for goals since his breakout year with Stabæk in 2021.
