Manchester United are in Italy to take on Como in the league stage of the 2026/27 Champions League.

The Red Devils have endured a tough start to their Premier League campaign and sit 13th in the division having won just one of their seven games so far. Therefore, Michael Carrick will be hoping the Champions League can be a welcome distraction from their domestic struggles.

Carrick has made four changes to the side that drew 1-1 with Leeds United at the weekend but Senne Lammens keeps his place in goal. Diogo Dalot and Harry Maguire keep their places in the back four while Noussair Mazraoui is recalled with Leny Yoro suspended.

Matthijs De Ligt starts for the first time in 325 days as he joins Maguire in the middle of United’s defence. Lisandro Martinez is ruled out with a thigh injury while Ayden Heaven is missing due to illness and Luke Shaw is still out.

Andrey Santos keeps his place in midfield but Carlos Baleba is rested with Mason Mount recalled. Kobbie Mainoo is ruled out of the trip to Italy while Manuel Ugarte is facing an extended spell on the sidelines with a knee injury.

Youri Tielemans keeps his spot in the Manchester United team while Bruno Fernandes also starts once again and Carrick will be looking for inspiration from his skipper tonight.

Bryan Mbeumo leads the line up front with Benjamin Sesko out injured but Amad Diallo drops to the bench with Matheus Cunha recalled in attack.
