Manchester United are set to welcome AFC Bournemouth at Old Trafford in a Premier League fixture on Sunday afternoon.
Following a disappointing start under Ruben Amorim’s guidance last term, the Red Devils decided to appoint Michael Carrick as the interim manager earlier this year.
The English boss helped his side qualify for the Champions League by finishing third in the Premier League table. As a result, he was rewarded with a permanent job.
However, United have endured a dire start this season, languishing in the bottom half of the table with seven points from as many matches. Overall, Man Utd have won only two out of 11 games across all competitions. So, speculation surrounding his future has started emerging.
On the other hand, although Bournemouth have won all three games in the Europa League this term, they have endured a disappointing start in the Premier League under new manager Marco Rose’s guidance.

After recovering from a long-term back problem, Matthijs de Ligt returned to action against Como in the Champions League in midweek. On the other hand, Ayden Heaven was sidelined due to an illness vs the Italian side but should be fit enough to be involved this weekend.
Leny Yoro was suspended against Cesc Fábregas’ side but is available for this encounter. However, Patrick Dorgu, Luke Shaw, Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte and Benjamin Sesko remain sidelined owing to their respective fitness problems. Lisandro Martínez and Marcus Rashford are in doubt for this fixture.
Predicted line-up
Senne Lammens is set to continue in goal, and in front of the Belgian, Yoro and Harry Maguire could be the centre-back partnership for the 20-time English champions.
Noussair Mazraoui might be in the right-back position, while Heaven could be on the opposite side. So, De Ligt and Diogo Dalot may be among the substitutes.
Andrey Santos is likely to be in the deep-lying playmaker position, and Carlos Baleba could be alongside the Brazilian in the engine room. Youri Tielemans might start in the creative midfield position.
In that case, Bruno Fernandes, who has displayed below-average performances this season, and Mason Mount would have to make do with a place on the bench.
Matheus Cunha should be on the left flank, and Amad Diallo might be on the opposite side. Bryan Mbeumo could lead the line for the hosts; therefore, Joshua Zirkzee would be among the substitutes.
