Everton are reportedly keeping a close eye on Tottenham Hotspur target and Real Sociedad forward Orri Oskarsson, as per TEAMtalk.
Despite letting Beto leave last summer, the Toffees failed to purchase a new striker. So, David Moyes currently has Thierno Barry as the only specialist striker option.
After moving to the Hill Dickinson Stadium from Villarreal last year, the Frenchman took time to adapt to the Premier League’s physicality. However, he has shown glimpses of his qualities this season, scoring six goals and registering a solitary assist in 10 appearances across all competitions.
Now, TEAMtalk state that Everton have started exploring options to sign a new forward and are keeping a close eye on Oskarsson before making a potential swoop in January.
However, they will have to overcome stiff competition to seal the deal as Tottenham, Newcastle, Sunderland and Brentford have all been assessing striker options and have checked on his availability.
The 22-year-old is valued at around £17m by Transfermarkt and still has a contract until 2030. Therefore, Real Sociedad are in a strong position to demand a sizable amount of money to sell him.
After moving to Reale Arena from Copenhagen a couple of years ago, the youngster initially took time to settle into his new surroundings. Although he featured as a rotational option last term, he made 10 goal contributions across all competitions.

This season, he has shown glimpses of his qualities, scoring four goals in 11 matches in all tournaments. After displaying promising performances in club football, he has secured his place in the Iceland national team.
Tottenham decided to reinforce the striker position by purchasing Omar Marmoush from Manchester City last summer. However, he isn’t a natural striker and has been playing on the flank this season.
So, it appears Roberto De Zerbi wants a new No.9. Oskarsson, standing at 6ft 1in tall, is a talented player and could turn out to be a shrewd acquisition for Everton or Tottenham should either club purchase him.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club or the Merseyside club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his services in January or next summer.
