Tsimikas and Gravenberch start: Predicted Liverpool XI vs Fenerbahce

Liverpool are one of only five teams to have made a 100% start to the league phase of the Champions League so far this season and will look to continue their good run on matchday four in Istanbul against Fenerbahce.

Andoni Iraola’s men face the Turkish giants are the Surku Sarakoglu Stadium on Wednesday evening at 17:45 UK time, as they look to quickly get back to winning ways having lost 1-0 to Arsenal at Anfield in the Premier League at the weekend.

Here is a look at the potential playing eleven their manager is likely to employ.

Goalkeeper – Alisson Becker is expected to retain his place in goal for the fixture.

Defenders – Ronald Araujo has consolidated his spot at right back in recent weeks after Jeremie Frimpong’s and Conor Bradley’s injuries, so the Uruguayan international could continue in the role once more. A change might be in store at left back, however, as Kostas Tsimikas could replace Milos Kerkez in a position that Iraola has often tinkered with.

Gravenberch replaces Nyoni in midfield

Midfielders – Trey Nyoni played in midfield against Arsenal and did well, but it is expected that Ryan Gravenberch will get some minutes in the Champions League in a double pivot next to Alexis Mac Allister.

With Dominik Szoboszlai recently returning from injury, he might start on the bench once again for Liverpool. Meanwhile, Florian Wirtz might be used at number 10 again.

Cody Gakpo is expected to play down the right flank like he did in the previous game, whereas Bradley Barcola may also be handed the nod on the left wing for Liverpool.

Forward – Alexander Isak could round off the starting eleven for Liverpool by playing as their sole striker ahead of Lewis Koumas in what will be a difficult fixture away from home for the Reds.

Here is a look at the visiting sides potential starting eleven on paper.
