Arsenal pondering over ambitious move to sign Chelsea forward Estevao Willian

Arsenal tied Bukayo Saka down to a contract extension at the club earlier this summer, but the Englishman has not had much competition for his place in the team for much of his tenure with the first-team.
Noni Madueke has not been able to supply goals as consistently as Mikel Arteta would have liked, while Saka’s own form this season and fitness over the recent past mean the Gunners are still looking for a right winger to challenge him.
Graeme Bailey has reported that Chelsea forward Estevao Willian has now emerged as a target for Arsenal, who would be keen on bringing him to the Emirates Stadium next year owing to his secondary role under Xabi Alonso.
One of the Blues’ brightest talents, Estevao, has not been among Xabi Alonso’s key set of players and it is believed that the Brazilian international is open to departing Stamford Bridge to regain his feet elsewhere if his situation doesn’t improve soon.
Excellent signing for Arsenal
Despite a bitter rivalry over the years, Arsenal and Chelsea have dealt in several high-profile transfers and if indeed the Gunners are prepared to materialise their interest in Estevao Willian, there is no reason why business may not be done.
Estevao is a terrific right winger. His eye-catching footwork, success rate in taking on defenders and shot power make him lethal from the wide areas. His decision-making, crossing and ability to play narrow, closer to goal, make him a really exciting talent.
He is just 19 but having tasted regular game time under Enzo Maresca and after showing immense potential, it comes as no surprise that Arsenal are looking to sign a player who might well usurp Bukayo Saka to a primary position under Mikel Arteta.
Valued at £67 million on Transfermarkt, Estevao is one of Chelsea’s most prized assets, so Arsenal will need to invest significantly in his purchase next year. It will be interesting to see if a deal between the Londoners for the young winger is on the cards soon.
