Man Utd & Arsenal keeping tabs on Marcus Tavernier

Manchester United and Arsenal are reportedly keeping a close eye on AFC Bournemouth forward Marcus Tavernier, as per TEAMtalk.
After moving to Vitality Stadium from Middlesbrough back in 2022, the 27-year-old initially featured as a rotational option before establishing himself as a key starter.
Following Antoine Semenyo’s departure, the Englishman has now been the Cherries’ talismanic figure. This season, he has been showcasing his qualities, scoring six goals in 14 appearances across all competitions.
Now, TEAMtalk claim that after being impressed by Tavernier’s recent eye-catching performances, Thomas Tuchel is considering selecting him in the England squad for the November international fixtures.
Arsenal are planning to upgrade the left flank and have earmarked Tavernier as a serious option. They have even been monitoring his development closely before making a potential swoop.
However, the Gunners will have to overcome stiff competition from Man Utd to seal the deal. Having endured a dire start this season, the Red Devils want to strengthen the attack and have been keeping a close eye on Tavernier. Moreover, the report state that Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are also in this race.
With the player’s existing deal set to run until 2029, Bournemouth are in a strong position to demand a big fee if they are forced to cash-in next year, and he is valued at around £25m by Transfermarkt.

Tavernier is a left-footed versatile forward as he is comfortable on either flank and is also efficient centrally. He is quick, strong, can create opportunities for fellow attackers, and is efficient at taking set-pieces.
Moreover, he works hard without possession. Although he isn’t a prolific forward, Tavernier has impressed in the Premier League and is currently at the prime stage of his career.
Therefore, the Bournemouth star might be a shrewd acquisition for Man Utd or Arsenal should either club purchase him. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club or the Merseyside club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his services in January or next summer.
Meanwhile, Man Utd currently have Matheus Cunha and Marcus Rashford as left-wing options. On the other hand, Christos Tzolis and Eberechi Eze are Arsenal’s left-wingers, but Eze is more comfortable in the CAM role.
