Guimaraes returns to the side: Predicted Arsenal XI vs Hull City
Arsenal regained top spot in the Premier League last weekend after beating Liverpool 1-0 at Anfield, following Manchester City’s loss to Brighton & Hove Albion, and have the chance to stay firm as league leaders ahead of the international break.
Mikel Arteta’s men take on newly promoted Hull City at the Emirates Stadium on matchday 10 of the Premier League on Saturday, November 7th, at 15:00 local time, looking for their third successive win in all competitions.
Here is a look at the playing eleven the Gunners are likely to employ.
Goalkeeper – David Raya is expected to retain his place in between the sticks for the fixture.
Defenders – Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori have emerged as primary full backs for Arsenal this season. Having rested in the Champions League game against Slavia Praha on Wednesday, the duo are expected to play on the right and left side of defence, respectively.
And while William Saliba has returned to training, he is not fully match fit, so Ezri Konsa and Gabriel Magalhaes could continue to partner one another in the heart of the back four.
Guimaraes and Odegaard return to the side
Midfielders – Martin Zubimendi played in the double pivot next to Declan Rice in the midweek Champions League fixture, but £75 million summer signing Bruno Guimaraes might return to the starting eleven versus Hull City. Rice is expected to keep his place in the engine room, so the former Real Sociedad star could make way for the Brazilian international.
Martin Odegaard could also return to the side, having been excluded from the previous line-up. Noni Madueke could continue to play on the right wing with Bukayo Saka still injured, but a change may be in store on the left wing with Christos Tzolis likely to replace Eberechi Eze.
Forward – Kai Havertz bagged the winner against Liverpool last weekend and could return to the playing eleven for Arsenal to lead the line at Viktor Gyokeres’ expense.
Here is a look at how the home side is likely to feature on paper.
