Tielemans replaces Baleba: Predicted Manchester United XI vs Aston Villa
Manchester United snapped a nine-match winless streak in all competitions with a thrilling 3-2 victory over AS Roma in their midweek Champions League game, and will be looking to use that momentum in the Premier League this season.
Aston Villa are the latest opponents for the Red Devils, who have only one win on the board in the English top-flight so far, but will look to secure three vital points before the international break at Old Trafford in their matchday 10 game on Sunday, November 8th, at 16:30 local time.
Here is a look at the hosts’ possible playing eleven.
Goalkeeper – Senne Lammens is expected to retain his place in goal for United.
Defenders – Leny Yoro is likely to continue as the right back, with Diogo Dalot expected to deputise on the left side once more with Luke Shaw unfit. Lisandro Martinez is suspended having picked up two yellow cards against Chelsea last weekend, so Ayden Heaven could partner Harry Maguire in central defender against Villa.
Tielemans to feature next to Mainoo in midfield
Midfielders – Kobbie Mainoo’s return to the playing eleven is welcome news for Manchester United, with the Englishman expected to keep his place in a deeper-lying position in midfielder in Sunday’s match. However, with Carlos Baleba picking up an injury in the win over AS Roma midweek, £35 million summer recruit Youri Tielemans is expected to feature in the double pivot.
Bruno Fernandes is expected to play as the number 10, while Amad Diallo may be employed on the right wing too. Matheus Cunha, who bagged a brace in the last game to overturn a two-goal deficit, is also set to retain his place in the line-up on the left flank.
Forward – Bryan Mbeumo is expected to continue as Man United’s centre forward once more.
Here is how Michael Carrick’s side for Sunday is likely to look on paper.
