Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are keeping tabs on Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White ahead of a potential swoop, according to TEAMtalk.
The 26-year-old has established himself as one of the Premier League’s best attacking midfielders in recent seasons.
He began his career with Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he came through the ranks before making his debut in the 2-0 FA Cup third-round win over Stoke City on 7 January 2017. Gibbs White was only 16 years, 11 months, and 11 days at the time he made his debut, becoming the seventh-youngest Wolves debutant in history and the second-youngest since 2000.
While he went on to make 88 appearances for Wolves, it was during his loan spell at Sheffield United that he truly rose to prominence, providing 22 goal contributions in 34 games, which earned him a place in the 2021-22 EFL Championship Team of the Season.
The attacker joined Forest in the following 2022-23 season and has maintained a high level of performances since then, notably in the last campaign, where he scored 18 goals and provided seven assists in all competitions.
Despite Forest’s struggling start to the season, he has remained one of the team’s standout performers, and it’s no surprise several clubs are now showing interest in him.
This is according to TEAMtalk, which claims that Tottenham and Man Utd are keeping tabs on Gibbs-White ahead of a potential swoop.
While Forest are adamant about retaining their key player, the Premier League duo are exploring attacking options, and their interest in the Englishman is growing, according to the report.
Battle
For Tottenham, the report adds that the North London club remain keen admirers of the 26-year-old after coming close to signing him in the summer of 2025.
The report adds that Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi wants to add more creativity and quality to his squad and is not fully convinced by some of his current options, including James Maddison and Conor Gallagher.
As a result, the club have now earmarked Gibbs-White as a viable option to add more firepower to the manager’s attack, TEAMtalk adds.
However, Tottenham are set to face fierce competition, as the report adds that United have entered the race to sign Gibbs-White and have made enquiries about his potential transfer as they assess their midfield and attacking options.
With 8.25 line-breaking passes per game and 21 created chances this season, Gibbs-White would be an invaluable addition to either Tottenham’s or United’s midfield.
However, with Forest keen on retaining him, it’ll be interesting to see which of the two Premier League clubs would win the race to sign the attacking midfielder, who will likely cost above his £66m Transfermarkt valuation.
