Arsenal Transfer News: Clichy, Benzema, Alvarez, Hazard, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jenkinson & More…

Another day of transfer gossip and news surrounding the Gunners, first we start up with the players leaving rumors.

Gael Clichy

An “exclusive” report by, states that French international left-back Gael Clichy has refused a new contract and will leave in the summer transfer window. German and Italian giants, Bayern Munich and Inter, are reportedly after him and he’s reportedly worth 8.5 million pounds, all I can say is, if true….. farewell Clichy.

Marouane Chamakh

Chamakh has been rumored to have thoughts of leaving the Gunners, after a tough first year. French giants Olympique Marseille were heavily linked with the Moroccan international and a reported offer of around 9 million pounds was mooted. However, in another report by the popular, Chamakh states that the “reports are false and that the only French team I’ll go to, is back with Bordeaux.” I think this is good news, as I believe Chamakh is still a very useful asset for the Gunners, and that he’ll be even better next season.

There are rumors and reports of players joining and being linked with the Gunners:

Carl Jenkinson

The Finnish FA have all but confirmed the deal of Carl Jenkinson joining the Gunners, on a Bosman transfer from Charlton with compensation reported at around 1 million pounds. He’s a 19 year old right back, who decided to choose his birth nation Finland over England, he’s said to have a bright future and I think it’s a good acquisition by the Gunners.

If you want to check out and get a better view of his talents, check out this video of his performance against Notts County…. there aren’t many videos of him, but hopefully it will give you a better idea:

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

There is news coming from reliable source and blog, We are the North Bank, stating that Wenger and the Gunners have re-opened talks with Southampton over the acquisition of the 18 year old talent. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been linked with the Gunners, especially after talks failed during the winter transfer window. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is a talented winger/midfielder, who’s blessed with pace and skills, his transfer will be around 10 million pounds if it happens.

If you want to take a better look at this player’s talents, check out these two videos:

Eden Hazard

Reports are suggesting that Hazard has decided to stay at Lille this season, a “source close to the player” told TalkSport that Hazard “has a contract till 2015 and now Champions League football, everything points out towards staying.” Looks like we missed out on this wonderkid, but there is still months left to go to until the transfer window….. it hasn’t even started yet.

Link to the article:

I think you already know about this guy’s talents already, but why not take another look, enjoy:

Karim Benzema

Well, this link will delight all Gooners as Wenger hinted of making a bid for French international Karim Benzema, the source comes from The Mirror, with Wenger stating that a bid for Benzema “does not seem impossible.” Benzema is a quality player and will be a great transfer, but will Real Madrid and Mourinho let go of him?

Link to the article:

I know, just like with Hazard, you readers and fellow Gooners, have a good idea of the talents of Benzema, but again, why not have another look:

Update on Ricardo Alvarez:

According to, a source from his club, Velez Sarsfield, has confirmed that no deal has been made, but the Gunners are interested in him, and that it would take an excellent offer to prize him away.

Here is the article, check it out:

What do you think? Do you want Clichy to leave? What are your opinions about new signing Carl Jenkinson? Are you excited of the prospects of a talent like Chamberlain joining the club? Please share your opinions and thoughts.

Cheers and take care,

Omar –

jenkinson looks like a good replacement for eboue as cover for sagna 1st time seen him in that video and he is obviously right foot footed, but liked the way he defended and pushed on when the opportunity arised

we will only get 1 from hazard or benzema, unless there is a mass exodus from arsenal (fingers crossed) clichy, bendtner, eboue, almunia, denilson, rosicky, squillaci, traore, arshavin and potentially fabregas

I would only love it if those players would be fu**ed out of arsenal and replaced with some talent thats worthy of wearing the arsenal jersey!!! i have to disagree with fab going tho because i think hes our engine and we need to build around him, it should have happened 2 seasons ago and then toure might still be there aswell to partner vermaelen in defense, but it didnt becus arsene was too tight fisted and didnt feel his team needed it and now we might lose our most prized possession in cesc and i dont think we can win silverware without him.

My view will not cause any impact on clichy. So if he is going i just wish him good luck afterall he has overstayed

I agree with Chinonso, if they won’t put 100% in then they should leave, I am really excited for Benzema and I think Carl Jenkinson could be good!

a agree with chinonso,i would let clichy go so he wouldnt be like flamini a go for free.what i have heard about jenkinson he is a right footer how can also play on the left but i would rather have gibbs playing on the left and jenky as a sub.i wouldnt buy chamberlain because he might have talent but we have gone 7 years without winning anything i would rather get young or santi cazorla,i think that hazard is now out of the picture sadly enough.benzema would be the ideal stricker but gervinho or gamiero would also be good(keep chamakh),ricky alvarez would be a diffrent kind of player but a good free transfer

Hahahahaha….I never trust And neither should you! Dont be silly and use links from

Chamakh won’t leave. We all know it. He moved to Arsenal because it’s his dream club and he’s second only to Robin Van Persie which is NOTHING to be ashamed of or a reason to leave.

As for Edin Hazard…I think signing him now is premature. Everybody is raving about his good times but alot of times he disappears into the game and nearly 50% of our squad aready does that so Hazard can stay at Lille for a another season and we can sign him next year. Right now we need a real bossy midfielder, older than 25 who is a WINNER and has tasted trophies!

So stop this bullcrap with asking for French players who are unproven in Champions League format.

Thanks for commenting…. yes, we shouldn’t completely trust, but they were the first to report on Arsenal’s interest in both Koscielny and Vermaelen so we shouldn’t write them off.

About Hazard, yes, he hasn’t played in the Champions League, but he is one of the most gifted players in the world and was just voted as the best player in France, so no I disagree that he shouldn’t be bought and such, he’ll be a star at the club who acquires him.

      Take care,

thats a load of rubbish about alvarez as arsenal wouldn’t need to bid for him as his contract is up at the end of the season so it would be a free transfer!

    • Omar Almasri

      May 26, 2011 at 3:04 pm

Thanks for commenting….. you’ll be correct if it was true, but there are conflicting reports suggesting that Alvarez still has two years left on his contract, so we’re not sure yet.

      Take Care,

Well i do suggest that Arsenal should allow whoever want to leave to go cos if they were commited to the team then they would have won a trophy and they also call back Ryo cos he is a good player and in time he would be our own cristiano Ronaldo and pls Wenger we don’t need anymore under age player

@darlington, if you think we need ten players you must be as ignorant as you seem! if we keep fab and nas then the addition CF DM and CB_ will be fine as long as they are proven. with ryo, oxlade, walcott and arsh, the wings will fly. love wenger to get the keys to the benzema, alvarez too, although he would need more time than karim to adapt.looks like hazard wants come but we’d have to lone him back to lille. for 20 million that is a lot to ask! BTW we should at least consider naymar. i truley believe that only people will appreciate what arsene has done is if spends big and wins. it will be like look what he can do WHEN he spends, oh yeah look how well arsenal did on a budget, with kids! arsene has realised this and wants restore his rep. and spending will, on this occasion enhance his global respect(if they become dominant as a result) finally, why is it that so many “fans” cant see have a top 3 manager in the world? it is not coincidence that real madrid approached him b4 mourinho, even with no trophies for 5 years. you forget that only barca play total football better than the gunners, and have a look at their wage bill, 2nd or 3rd in the world in any sport. i wish all these hating gooners out there would realise the damage they are doing, GROW UP!

i have a feeling that arsenal does not exist because of a few individuals, so whoever wants to leave should bag out…because afterall their contribution is minimal.

Thanks everyone for commenting….. I agree that if Clichy or anyone else who wants to leave the Gunners, should leave… we don’t unhappy players in the club.

Anyways, did you hear the news on Falcao? What do you think? Should Wenger go all out for him?

    Cheers and take care,
