Arsenal Transfer News: Arsenal Up Bid For Samba

By on June 1, 2011

There is some interesting news and headlines today surrounding Gunners, especially when it comes to transfer news and gossip.

Here are the headlines:

Arsenal up bid for Samba

Samba…. Gunners increase bid?

The big headline today, there are reports stating that the Gunners have upped their bid for Blackburn skipper, Christopher Samba to 10 million pounds. This headline was stumbled upon an article on fellow Arsenal blog, Just Arsenal, who state that it was the Daily Star that reports the news. I tried to find the article in the Daily Star and I couldn’t find it, with the closest to this news was an article a few days ago, on May 27 so I’m not sure about this one.

Here’s the link to Just Arsenal’s article: http://justarsenal.com/arsenal-raise-bid-for-samba-to-10-million/8196

Randall and Cruise released

This is sad news, as Arsenal youngsters Mark Randall and Tom Cruise have been released by the club. Randall, who is 21, was given many chances to prove himself, but never took his chance and Wenger lost his patience with him. While Tom Cruise, nicknamed Top Gun after his namesake, was considered a future prospect, but didn’t convince Wenger enough to warrant a new contract. I hope the best for both of them.

Here’s a video of a brilliant goal from Mark Randall, he obviously has talent, the video is not that clear, but you can tell that it’s a good goal:

What do you think? What are your opinions about Randall and Cruise getting released? What about the supposed increased bid on Samba? Please share your thoughts and opinions.

Cheers and take care,

i’d like to see wenger look back into brede hangeland.
he’s a good solid premier league defender who scores goals.
also once vermalen is back to his best we’ll have a strong centre pairing be it samba or hangeland.

Pay Blackburn the money and get on with the next transfer, don’t keep haggling to get him as cheap as we can or else another club will come in and once again Arsenal will be the losers. Either we’ve got the loot or we ain’t………

Great suggestions, but I prefer one striker, a holding midfielder along with a winger, and maybe a left back if Clichy leaves and of course a tough centerback.

it looks like we will get our man, but expect blackburn to hold out for 12 million. Wenger will stall, just for the sake of his hard bargaining image.
Wenger is linked with many players..its a way of attempting to drive a hard bargain, if he believes that managers are thinking that he (wenger) may buy elsewhere.I think all managers know the routine….it wont cut any ice with them.
