Sir Alex To Get Record-Breaking Transfer Funds This Summer

The Mail suggests Manchester United are set for the biggest summer spending spree in their history, a whopping £150m will be available to Sir Alex for transfers. United have been linked with a diverse group off youngsters to world class stars, most notable Inter Milan’s Wesley Sneijder.

Sneijder has been identified as a replacement for Paul Scholes who has retired from football, but wages in excess of £130,000 and a transfer fee of £30m, a move for the Dutch international is still unclear.

Fergie is also a long term admirer of Everton’s Jack Rodwell. The central midfielder is expected to join the club in a fee of around £15million, but local rivals Manchester City have also been linked with the 20-year old.

A £22m move for Spanish international David de Gea should be wrapped up this week, de Gea is set to replace the retiring Edwin van der Sar.

United have also been linked with promising wingers Alexis Sanchez and Southampton’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Sanchez is a £20million target for City boss Roberto Mancini and Fergie will have to battle it with old foe Arsene Wenger for Saints youngster Chamberlain.

United will also ponder a move for Blackpool’s Charlie Adam if a move for Rodwell or Sneijder fails to materialise, but one thing is certain….it’s going to be a busy summer at Old Trafford.
