Chelsea have been dealt a blow with manager Carlo Ancelotti confirming during his pre-match press conference today that defender Ricardo Carvalho will be out for 4 weeks with an ankle injury. However, the good news is that scans have shown he will not require surgery, but it will take 4 weeks to fully recover.
Carvalho picked up the injury during Chelsea’s 5-0 victory over Portsmouth on Wednesday and is now set to miss some crucial matches for Chelsea during their premier league run-in starting with tomorrow’s game against Aston Villa.
Boss Ancelotti will now only have Alex and captain John Terry to rely on at centre back.
