That’s easy to answer Thomas – because United are in dreary, industrial and horrible Manchester… and the lure of London means no contest – its like choosing buckingham palace over a third world country !

Sneijder is a great player and he’d easily improve the majority of teams in the world. Thankfully Barca dont need him and he probably wont go back to Madrid, so he’s a fair bet to leave Inter this summer or next, and as the player with top assists in the Champions League over the last few seasons he’s a world class talent. People believe he might go to Chelsea? Really? I mean Frank Lampard is still a top class player and he plays in Sneijder’s position, why would he want to compete with the local favourite? More likely City or United will be his destination, they have the cash and either could accommodate him because they dont have established central midfielders in his position. I also completely disagree with the idea that Wes wouldn’t pick Manchester because of the weather and social climate. London is just as crap by comparison to Madrid and Milan, he clearly isn’t moving anywhere better than he’s been if he’s coming to England. And such a dedicated professional wont worry about the weather and how nice the place he lives in, he’s coming to play football
