TRANSFER NEWS: Chelsea Set To Rival Spurs For £20m Ace

By on June 14, 2011

Chelsea are linked with Everton and England Under 21 star Jack Rodwell. Tottenham are favourites to land the midfielder but both Chelsea and Manchester City are weighing up a bid for the midfielder.

Rodwell, 20 who can play either midfield or centre half was previously linked with a £20million move to Old Trafford, but Manchester United chief Sir Alex Ferguson has seemingly turned his attention elsewhere after Rodwell’s dip in form.

The combative midfielder had reportedly agreed a fee in principle with a move to Old Trafford, but since January, Rodwell suffered a dip in form which saw United’s hierarchy struggling to justify the £20million fee for the young Englishman.

Chelsea are believed to be contemplating whether or not to move for youngster in this transfer window or the next one reports the Daily Mail. Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is determined to bring in fresh young stars this summer to help add much needed youth to an aging squad.

The 20-year old is priced at around £20-25million and would add much needed funds at The Goodison with Everton boss David Moyes planning to gate crash the top 5 next season.

for landing a midfield player or a far winger, its best to look for talented boots. looking for a good uefa cl next year its wise to go for someone like Arjen Robben. Young players do are assets but viewing chelseas current profile, Robben is good though cost high.

its high time chelsea look for a good rightback who can go deep and have a play on the opposite box. Although Ivanovic is good, better payers need to be checked. Young crossers from latin america, if the term is correct, should be brouht in. Also a good striker well suiting with Torres, is also required. Spending huge for big guns is not all, Wise selection is a criteria.

Why is Rodwell so expensive? He’s never been a regular for everton.
Felliani is a much better player.

    CHELSEA JUST NEED 4 PLAYERS:
NEYMAR (a creative, tricky, striker/midfielder) for Anelka or Malouda
PASTORE (a creative midfielder) for Essien or Benayoun
VAN DE WIEL (a tricky, fast, right wingback) for Bosingwa or Ferreira
SUBOTIC (a 6ft3 goal scoring central defender) phased in slowly for Terry
