REPORTS: Chelsea Ready To Increase Offer After Spurs Reject Modric Bid

By on June 16, 2011

Tottenham have rejected a £22m offer from Chelsea for Luka Modric, according to Sky Sports News sources.

Modric has attracted interest from the likes of Man Utd and Man City after a superb season for Spurs, but it seems Chelsea have moved first in trying to secure the signature of the playmaker.

Boss Harry Redknapp has always maintained Modric wasn’t for sale at any price and is likely to be less than pleased with an offer of £22m for his star man.  However, it’s believed that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is eager to get the Croatian and is preparing to submit another offer.
