Arsenal Transfer News: Defender Linked | Interest In Striker Revealed | Blackburn Speak Out On Samba

By on June 20, 2011

Another couple of days of transfer gossip, news, rumors, speculation goes by surrounding the Gunners. There is, as usual, interesting news and headlines, so without further ado… here is the Arsenal Transfer News Roundup from the last couple of days.

Blackburn Owners Want Samba Stay

After weeks of speculation, news and such, stating that Samba is closing in on a move to the Gunners. Anuradha Desai, stated during an interview with the Daily Mail that they wish to hold on to Chris Samba for at least one more season and they’ll do whatever they can to convince Samba to stay. This is what she said:

‘We don’t want to let Chris go,’ said Desai. ‘I’m confident that we can keep him and I hope he’ll stay.

‘I know he has an ambition to play for Arsenal but I hope we can keep him for another year at least and prove our own ambition.’

Looks like the Gunners, still have a long way to go if they want to acquire the Blackburn skipper; they won’t let go of him without a fight.

Arsenal want Jose Enrique as a replacement for Clichy

Many reports are filtering around, suggesting and stating for weeks, that Arsenal are interested in Newcastle’s Jose Enrique and are considering him as a replacement, in case Clichy leaves. This report states that the Gunners have already met with Jose Enrique’s representatives and reports vary his value between 10-15 million pounds. In my opinion, Jose Enrique would be a solid addition if he were to join the Gunners.

Arsenal interested in Roma’s Vucinic

There are reports stating that Arsenal and Manchester United have held talks with the agent representing AS Roma and Montenegrin international star, Mirko Vucinic. Vucinic, is considered one of the best strikers in the Serie A, known for his excellent skills and technique and can not play as a central forward, but also as a left winger. Despite this, Mirko Vucinic is valued at 26 million pounds, which is a turn off and an over hyped price tag.

Same here, except players like Denilson and Bendtner, the team needs to keep the key players and quality players to make the team stronger.

There is n article which says the success of Arsenal should not be measured by trophies won. Then Arsenal may as well packup and not play football. The writer asks for patience otherwise the club will be in debt.
Well the red faced has been winning trophies and doesn’t allow the fear of debt to inhibit his transfer dealings.
If Arsenal wait for UEFA fair play to come in,they will be left further behind. It won’t surprise me if Wenger does get anyone of note. Then the same scenario in April will probably be replayed.

What Arsenal need is this 21years old best world striker midfielder.

Gol-Gol Mebrahtu (born 28 August 1990 in Eritrea) is an Eritrean-Australian footballer. He currently plays for A-League club Gold Coast United.
In June 2009, Mebrahtu signed a 3 year contract with Gold Coast United, after trialing for the club in April.

My thought about arsenal under arsene is a bit different. Le prof promise d fans to expect a busy transfer only to witness the signing of underage, inexperience Carl J in couple of weeks. While on the other hand, the transter-silent Sir has managed to sign up to three talented and experienced players + english national. what’s up with the gunner 4 God’s sake?????????????????

I assume you meant Vucinic can not ONLY play as a central forward as opposed to
“can not play as a central forward, but also as a left winger”? Proof reading; it’s a wonderful thing.

i mean vucinic by tha way

      June 20, 2011 at 9:48 pm

Yeah he’s a talented player, but his high cost and lack of goals is a concern. The cost can probably decrease if we can add a player that Roma are interested like Clichy or Denilson, but I’m not sure if Roma will be interested.

      Cheers and take care,

      Omar

For 26 million pounds I would go for Radamel Falcao who is two years younger than Mirko Vucinic and is a proven goal scorer and has a great attitude and has already said that he would love to play in the English Premier League. Its a bargain because he has two more years to give Arsenal.
