Messi Praises Chelsea, Arsenal & Tottenham Target

By on June 24, 2011

Lionel Messi is a huge fan of Porto striker Radamel Falcao. The £25million rated Colombian has been linked with a move to West London this summer after former boss Andre Villa-Boas made the switch to Chelsea, and the world’s greatest player is full of admiration on the players qualities:

“I’d like to play with him,” said Messi.

“Falcao is a great player and is at a very high level. He has won everything in a season in which he scored many goals. He is, today, the great reference of Colombian football.”

The 25-year Falcao has also been linked with a move to North London with both Arsenal and Spurs interested in the striker, but Chelsea still remain favourites to secure his signature.

I don’t mind people chatting like chav’s on here if that’s how you write – but to change Wenger to ‘Wenga’ is just a step too far away from any type of grammar!

Its fine for Messi to play with Falcao. But that does not means Falcao is what Chelsea need. If you watch Falcao play you will see he is an opportunist striker. He needs to be fed good balls. This makes him similar to Drogba and Torres. Chelsea don’t need another like them right now. They need players that make holes in defenses using good ball skill, players that can take the ball out wide to the wings, and players who can lay off good passes. And yes a playmaker like Modric will assist in this. But you have to have strikers and wingers that can do it too. And actually there is no one better at all these things than Chelsea’s main target: Neymar. Granted, he has’nt been a good boy lately, but he is the best at what he does on the field. Chelsea have chased him for so long pricely because he has always been what they most needed. I think getting him is an essential.

OMG…I am a Nigerian Living abroad..But it is a shame how my fellow country men write. Take your time to study, guys develop yourselves and you will be better for it. @ ABC and Dan…We Nigerians use abbreviations to express words like THE as D..YOU as U and so on..and I understand what you mean but You should show respect to these people..if You cannot correct them..simply Ignore their comments it is better that way than to make negative criticism of such comments..Thank You.

Kaybee it’s nothing to do with being Nigerian, teenagers all over the world and even adults are using ‘text speak’. British teenagers are the worst for it.

I can understand why someone would use that to get more said in one text message (limit on number of characters you can use) but online it’s just retarded.

The best way to teach people not to use that kind of grammar online is to completely ignore them, do not respond. Let them write their garbage and ignore it. That way if they want their opinion heard they’ll write properly.

I’m an admin on another site and I just outright delete any comments or posts with that kind of text speak.

Come on Mr Wenger ask management to buy some decent players. Is Arsenal looking
for another dry season ahead. Ship out some of the bads players who do not qualify to wear an Arsenal jersey. you cannot stay a development team. Every season seems that Aesenal just about manages to creep into 4th spot. Let do better this season. win trophies

I appriciate messi’s comment about Falcao, let wenger struggle for the signature of the classic striker. but wenger seem to be very idiot about his signing.he fears big names b’se he knows that it will take a lot of money.let all the arsenal fans in the world chase wenger out of his work at arsenal if he fail to sign this season, let him leave arsenal.

This is what Chelsea FC team should look like for next season, if we are to have a chance of challenging in europe:

Eden Hazard – Torres – Neymar – Alexis Sanchez

    Pastore – Essein

Cole – Mammodu Sakho – Luis – Van Der Weil

    Cech

Hazard can drop back in case of a 4-3-3 system and Neymar to the let side of midfield. AVB needs to understand that when Chelsea did very well was, when Duff and Robben played together. It was a nightmare stopping either one of them. If we want a winning team, this is it. Let’s get them now before it is too late and we would have to play 100m for each next season.

Gentlemen, what are your take on this and can anyone get to AVB to suggest these players to him. Thanks.

Now back to the topic. Falcao is out of Arsenal’s price range. We cannot afford his transfer fee and we cannot afford the wages he could command elsewhere.

People seem to think if we sold Fabregas and all our reject squad players, denilson et al. That we’d have lots of money to spend on expensive players. We don’t.

Arsenal is not an attractive team for the big players, we won’t pay them over 100,000 a week in wages, that means after tax they’re only earning 50,000 a week. That is not very attractive for the likes of Falcao or Eden Hazard. We’re not a trophy team. We can’t guarantee trophies, in fact we can’t even guarantee champions league football next season. We have a chance but not a certainty. Wenger is simply not going to pay 20+ million for any player anyway and you know what? He’s right. Look how much United paid for Young and Liverpool paid for Henderson. Gervinho is as good if not better than Young and he’s far cheaper. Chelsea paid 50 million for an out of form Torres and the other big spenders are throwing cash away on players for fun.

Nasri is a ready made replacement for fabregas. Frimpong is going to be the DM we need to back up Song. Samba and Cahill have been linked and we will get one of them. We have no need of a new keeper but we definitely need to sell Almunia though I don’t want him ever on the pitch again.

We need one solid defender to join Vermaelen, Vermaelen is pretty much a another new signing. So one more tall, powerful defender and Vermaelen, Koscielny, with Djourou and Miquel as back up is a pretty solid back-line, with the Pole in goal that is a pretty good defense. We need another LB to replace Clichy, but exceptional, available LB’s are pretty hard to come by, which is why people are queuing up to buy our mistake prone one who can’t cross.

People are crying out for expensive signings when all we need is a few solid players and you don’t have to spend over the odds to find one of them. Vermaelen, Ramsey, Koscielny, Myaichi, Arshavin were all cheap compared to their relative skill.

We need a change in thinking and tactics that’s all. It’s pointless having Chamakh if you’re not going to feed him aerial balls, which we don’t. It’s pointless having Walcott if you’re going to have him stuck by corner flag where you can’t use his pace, Walcott is not a dribbler, he’s not going to run at a LB and pass him. Nasri is not a LW, Bendtner is not an RW. Koscielny may be better suited to a DM role than a CB role with his style of play. Arshavin is a second striker not a LW and we’re asking all of these attack minded players to track back when it’s unnatural for them to cover our wing backs. So Arshavin, Walcott, Nasri etc are all in the wrong side of the pitch for a counter attack. So we hardly ever break with pace and instead pass the ball around while the opposition resets.

A couple more signings is all we need. But if Arsenal fans are sitting there waiting for some big names and for those transfers to happen soon then you’ll be bitterly disappointed. We will get cheap but good players and it won’t be until mid July.

Let’s not forget how close we were last season and let’s not forget that we beat Barcelona, and the reason we messed up was more to do with the idiotic amount of cup replays we had to play than anything else because we beat all the best teams in the world last season and if Van Persie hadn’t been sent off and he got the chance Bendter had then we would have beat Barca in that match too.

Ha ha. Torres is screwed if Chelsea sign falcao. He will get played wide, and fail miserably.
Torres kick and run tactics have Bern found out.
I’ve only seen him play well a few times.

i agree with bongo….so many reasons why we wont even have a sniff at falcao.
Too pricey for a small club like arsenal…….i say small club because that how wenger and the board are shaping us as regards the quest for trophies with top quality players……we buy modestly and as cheap as possible. Thats the reality of arsenal 2011. We have a beautiful state-of-the-art atadium with the highest priced season tickets around, but strangely no top quality players sought to compliment that. Wenger is too small-minded to be arsenal manager, we need a manager that thinks BIG. You have to speculate to accumulate…a saying that is totally alien to mr tightfist!

Signing Falcao will be a great deal but adding Hulk to the signing will be perfect. Let’s get rid of old football professors in chelsea and pave way for young doctors so that they can apply the fresh doctorate wisdom to professorship later. Our future is bright!!!
