Liverpool Legend: Man Utd Must Break The Bank For Modric

By on June 25, 2011

BBC pundit Alan Hansen has urged Manchester Untied boss Sir Alex Ferguson to pull out all the stops to sign Tottenham ace Luka Modric.

In his column for BBC Sport, Hansen wrote: “The loss of Scholes and the fact that Giggs is another year closer to the end of his career means Ferguson is almost certain to strengthen in midfield. He has been linked with Tottenham’s Luka Modric and Wesley Sneijder from Inter Milan, both fabulous players.

“I do not know where Modric is going, or even if he is going because Spurs chairman Daniel Levy gave Chelsea very short shrift last week, but if I was Ferguson I would break the bank to land the Croatian. He fits the bill perfectly.

“Modric is a class act and his performance when Spurs won at Liverpool on the final day of last season was as good as it gets. When the ball comes to him, he doesn’t just instinctively know his three options, he knows the best one to take. He also always has time and space in abundance – the hallmark of the great player.”

    Hansen, always a prat.
He’s staying at Yids, and if he did go anywhere in the future it wouldn’t be there. I reiterate, he’s staying at WHL.

How about urging spurs to keep him at all cost so spurs can have a go at the title. Is it me or do all pundits and jornos want the same team to win the league every year I would rather another team win like spurs just to mix it up other wise we’ll end up with some thing like what happens in Scotland.

Hansen is motivated by trying to help eliminate Spurs from being competitive in the top 6 clubs vying for champs football
Take Modders out of Spurs and they are unlikely to be as competitive for at least another year….. Helping Liverpool to have a clearer run at the top

Keep the stars and with a trimed down more focused squad and the right quality striker. Spurs can certainly aim at taking points of the so called big clubs after that it will all be about consistancy

I hope it happens just to stick it up all the so called sports journalists and football hacks who seem to take an inordenant amount of pleasure in trying to unravel a Spurs team who have been hugely entertaining !!

Should be sacked for this.Spurs are clear Luka is not for sale and if a team can be docked points for tapping then a bbc pundit should be sacked or are the bbc backing mr hansen up for what he has said.

No its not. Its far from pointless. He has a contract. Keep him to it. Its attitudes like that that are letting players, stupid cash rich clubs and money ruin football. He has a contract and if he doesnt wish to play, then dont play him, fine him max wages each week til he does want to play. Then sell him in a couple of yrs. Its time clubs took the clubs back from the money hungry players and the short sighted and small attitude of, “Let them go, sod the morals!”

Hmm…not only does Hansen look like a Gerry Anderson puppet,he sounds like one as well.(No thought process, just pre programmed nonsense)He’s saying this so he can say things on Match of the Day like “This is what Man U do best” er “Spurs midfield is a joke” etc. etc. All the other pundits like those nodding dogs in a back car window.

Luka is a wonderful player and one Spurs don’t want being touted around by anyone, let alone pundits. Hands off!

And thus does this supposed ‘expert’ give the lie to any real love he might profess to have for this sport. You can understand the jerk-offs on Sky mouthing this crap as they serve their masters first before the sport, but if this BBC ‘expert’ is serious here, what chance is there of intelligent media analysis of the joke that the Premier League has become when only the same three or four teams are seen as having the right to all the best players and all the game’s trophies and titles?

Come the new season, this sorry object will see little or no problem in saying the league champions will come from Chelsea, City and United before an effing ball has even been kicked.
