REPORTS: Modric To Cash In And Stay At White Hart Lane

Luka Modric is to become the highest paid player in Tottenham’s history. The Mail on Sunday suggests Spurs will make the Croatian the top earner at White Hart Lane but only if signs a new long term deal with the North London club.

The 25-year old has already told the club he wants to join Chelsea, but both Harry Redknapp and Daniel Levy remain defiant in their stance and both insist the player will not be sold.

The talented midfielder will be offered a double your money deal to stay on at the Lane. Levy has already informed Redknapp that players will have to be sold this summer in order to fund new faces at the club, but the Chairman insists the likes of Lennon, Bale and Modric will not be sold at any price. Redknapp said:

“There is nothing happening in the transfer market.

“I need to sell four or five players to bring in funds.

“The chairman has made it clear we need to move a few players before we can start doing any business.

“I keep seeing us linked with this player and that, but unless we reduce our squad numbers we will stay quiet in the market.”
