Suarez Stunner As Star Admits: I Want To Play For Barcelona

By on July 2, 2011

Liverpool star Luis Suarez has shocked the masses by claiming he dreams of playing for Barcelona. The Uruguayan star arrived at Anfield in the January transfer window last season – amidst the departure of Fernando Torres – and seemingly became a fan favourite overnight.

‘El Pistolero’ earned a move to the Premier League after stellar performances for Ajax and Uruguay, most notably in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. The forward had an amazing goal-scoring record in the Dutch Eredivisie, scoring 111 goals in 159 games for AFC Ajax.

Apparently, the Uruguayan talisman has strong ties to Barcelona; his agent is brother of Catalan manager Pep Guardiola.

“Before meeting Pere Guardiola, my current agent, I had this desire, this dream of a chance to play for that team [Barcelona],” Suarez is quoted as saying in Spanish sports weekly Don Balon.

“Obviously he [Pere] is a person related to Barcelona by his brother, but work situations are totally different relationships. If Guardiola wanted me, he would want me no matter who represents me.”

It is obvious that South Americans are going to be atracted to playing for the big Spanish or Portugese teams. As long as he doesn’t harbour “dreams” of playing for any English teams, I really couldn’t give a toss, and I’m sure most Liverpool fans would say the same

No one player is bigger than any football club.

Blown out of proportion! Any pro would want to b a part of Barca at this time. Success, world class players, world class manager and trophies/ titles. As long as he remembers he wears a red shirt and honours that. It is a dream, and that’s all it is at this time. Become a legend at the best club in football. He might get to entertain his dream! Not now though. Concentrate on the real world and the huge job he has to return Liverpool back to glory. You’ll never walk alone!
