£45m Chelsea Target Reveals Roma Desire

By on July 3, 2011

AS Roma defender Nicolas Burdisso has revealed Javier Pastore wants to move to the Giallorossi this summer, denting Chelsea’s hopes of signing the player.

The Argentine superstar has been linked with Chelsea, Manchester City and Barcelona in a £45million move this summer, but the talented playermaker wants to join Serie A outfit Roma.

It’s unlikely another Italian club can afford Palermo’s inflated price tag, but Burdisso who is away on international duty with Pastore has revealed he wants to join him at Roma.

“Javier is a truly extraordinary player, but he told me he really wants to play for Roma,” said Burdisso.

Chelsea appears favourites to land the attacking midfielder who has had an exceptional season in Serie A, with a recording boasting an assist or goal in every other game for Palermo. The only stumbling block being the excessive price tag slapped to the 22-year old.

It’s expected that Chelsea boss Andre Villa-Boas will assess his squad next week when they return to pre-season training before he sanctions any mega money moves this summer.
