Van der Vaart Unsure Of Bale & Modric Staying At Tottenham

By on July 5, 2011

Tottenham midfielder Rafael van der Vaart appears pessimistic on Luka Modric and Gareth Bales future at the club.

Both Chelsea and Man Utd have been heavily linked with a move for Modric, while Bale has also had his future questioned. Despite Chairman Daniel Levy and manager Harry Redknapp both insisting the players are not for sale, van der Vaart is unsure if Modric and Bale will remain at the club:

“It’s difficult. When a player wants to leave and go to another club, it is difficult to keep them,” Van der Vaart told Sky Sports News.

“When a player is unhappy it’s also not a good thing.

“Luka, [Gareth] Bale, they are not players that play for money – they play to win something. If they feel they have to go to another club it’s their decision. But I hope they stay because they are fantastic and really important for the club.”

Van der Vaart is quite right. There’s no point in trying to offer these guys more money. Just sell them and use the money well. Modric was very clear about why he wanted to join Chelsea. Ultimate the decision is the player’s, not the management’s.

WTF does VDV know about the situation? He is neither the Chairman or the Manager. Any fool masquerading as a reporter (and there are quite a few out there these day’s) can ask a few leading questions and come up with totally misleading headlines just to keep themselves in a job for another couple of weeks. If that is professional journalism god help us all. For all the dunces out there taking the word of a low life so called reporter of a low class no class newspaper that Modric wants to join Chelsea, there is no hope for any of you full stop. The frenzy it has caused amongst you is quite frankly amazing and the authour of that article is laughing all the way to the bank and perhaps a season ticket at Stamford Bridge. Dream on prats.
