Luka Modric: “I Will Hand In A Transfer Request”

Tottenham’s want-a-way midfielder Luka Modric has claimed he will have in a transfer request if the club continue to bloke his move to Chelsea.

Modric reiterated his desire to leave Spurs, as well as slamming Chairman Daniel Levy for his arrogance. The Sun quotes Modric as saying:

“If I have to, I will hand in a transfer request.

“I’m extremely disappointed by the way Levy talked to me. I had a cold welcome to his office and he talked to me arrogantly. He arrogantly let me know that he doesn’t even want to know what I have to say.

“I don’t know what are the reasons for his behaviour but it’s his problem.”

The Daily Mail also quote him as saying:

“Much of what has been printed about my meeting with Mr Levy is incorrect. Mr Levy, realising the importance of our meeting, twisted my words. I now have the right to tell my side of the story.”

“If I have to, I will hand in a transfer request. ”

“I have been a loyal sportsman. I played when injured and sick.

“I came back only a few days after operations. I did it as a professional but also as a man who wants to make his contribution to Spurs.

“Now the time has come to go my own way and I ask them to understand my situation.

“I told him I want to go and the reason is my ambition to play for a club which is challenging for the English title and the European championship.

“I will be 26 soon and I’m convinced it is right for me to take my chance in my career.”

So why did you sign a new six year contract only six months ago. !!!!

What makes me laugh is that he seems to think that because someone has bid £22m we should sell him. I say sell the guy but never at that tawdry price… Unless they want to chuck in Daniel Sturridge as well.

Surly this has to be seen as tapping up of a player by Chelsea. If a club asks for permission to speak to another clubs player and that permission is refused, then that should be the end of the matter. By Chelsea making the story public and giving details of a potential salary means the player concerned is now aware of the interest. This is an underhand tactic used by Chelsea before and they should be made an example of by a heavy points deduction and banned from any transfer activity for at least three years.

Classic – Grow up Steve – this is the way transfer business has been conducted for years – I’m sure Harry has done exactly the same thing in the past. Everyone learnt from the master tapper, ole red nose in manchester.

Don’t be ridiculous? Is Snijder not aware of how much Man U is offering him or Inter Milan? What about Neymar and Real Madrid or even Fabregas and Barcelona. I’m pissed to read-up all this hypocrisy!!!

Tapping up a player would be seeking out the representatives of the player and the player themselves and behind the back of the club that the player is playing for, discreetly informing them of the worth of the contract they want to offer him. Chelsea have not done that, all they’ve done is make a 22M pound offer which was unfortunately rejected and are retaining interest in signing the player. They have not had secret talks with Modric

Let him go – £20 mill and Sturridge will do it, then Bale will want to go, so 40 million and off to Barcelona. Does that make us a selling club? Well Liverpool sold Torres, Man U sold Ronaldo, City will have to sell Tevez and Chelsea never sell anyone because their players are too old and past it, like fat frank. All clubs buy and sell, that’s football. Get rid of the rubbish or deadwood – Woodgate, O’Hara, Bassong, Keane, Crouch, Hutton, Jenas can go anyway – does that make us a selling club? Modric and Bale have been given the chance to shine at Spurs, but the money generated by their sale will give us better players, younger, with great potential – or, if Harry has his way, old past it has beens like Parker and Reo Coker.

I suggest he hand in a transfer request if he is that desperate to leave. How can he demand a transfer without submitting a formal request? It just goes to show – as if anyone didnt know already – that its all about money.

Football fans in general – not just Spurs ones – should rejoice in this little toe rag being forced to put out the bibs and cones and clean the first team players’ cars until he comes to his senses. He signed a legally binding contract for 6 years – SIX YEARS! Its a real shame Utd didnt do this with Ronaldo. I hope City do it with Teves (if he refuses to play ball – although bizaarly even he seems to have a greater understanding of his legal and moral duty than Modric).

Its a great shame that Modric has done this to himself. Ovenight he has gone from the joyful kid who just wanted to play football to the really moody one in the Anelka family. Still, I have to say, if he were to move to Chelsea, he would be in good company. Surely there could be no better role models for the new Modric than old Nic and Cashley Hole

hehehe… we will get him for 30M, but he is worth it. or let them take 15 M + kalou or 18M+ ferrira or 10M+Anelka or in exchange for berntrand or drogba for Modric + 10M or torres for modric +20M or lamps for modric + 30M or AVB in exchange for Tottenham FC

All spurs fans should be thinking why does he want to leave. They find it very hard to swallow that he should want to go to Chelsea. They just can’t except the the fact that Chelsea are a bigger club.

Bigger in the sense that you have an owner who throws his money around like confetti (and celebrates goals like a girl) and has singlehandedly distorted the game beyond recognition (not for the better).

You may well get him in the end but lets not be coy about what you will have to pay. Levy will probably start to waiver at around 35 million, he might even return your call at 40 million! But prepare for upwards of that (whether you think he is worth it or not):-p

I am totally with the Spurs fans, I don’t see why should bw allowed to leave or even ask. He has just signed a 6 year contract. If I was Levy i would rathjer leave him on the bench (to think about what he’s doing) than sell him to a rival. Chelsea arent a big club either, so all those blues fans are full of ****

Another football mercenary, the game is full of them. The six year contract he signed was put in place to stop him from moving easily and the benefit for him is a nice little wage hike. All he has to do is be loyal and stick it out. Along with Torres, Rooney, Tevez, and the rest of them, a club should have the balls to say no! Is that not what Arsenal are trying to do? The days of contracts being honoured are long gone….sadly. THAT is the reason KK is buying English. He wants some loyalty, passion and pride back in the game.

PMSL if the likes of Anelka and Boswinga are worth 30 million what does that make Modric? Like I said your ‘big’ club will have to delve deep into your gangsters ‘big’ wallet to prize him away from Levy.
Chelski have bought a few trophies these last few years and good luck to em…I wouldnt turn away a sugar daddy either…but lets face it….big club? You simply cant buy that!

Chelsea arent a bigger club than spurs, Just a richer club thats all. After her comments, you are welcome to Lucy Modric. She’ll fit in really well with the rest of the call girls at Stamford brothel. Just depends whether head madam Romana Abramovich is prepared to pay the right fee. (35-40 million) should be a minimum considering the new six year deal. Bye Lucy

People debating whether or not a club is “bigger” than another is so idiotic its almost unreal. Yes Chelsea have more recent success than spurs but without the Pimp you would have achieved nothing. This cannot be denied. Have a little humility for your own sakes. Imagine 2 people looking to achieve the same thing. 1 can only spend what he has to achieve his target, the other has a much as wants given to him by his Daddy. We can expect the rich kid to get the job (in todays world), thats understandable but mocking the other??? Thats just low

Ok lets rewind back to 2003 before mr Abramovich bought Chelsea. Who was the last team to achieve success in cup final between sp*rs and Chelsea? thats right Chelsea FA Cup winners ’97, ’00 runners up ’94, ’02 League cup winners ’97 CWC ’98 and yet sp*rs have won 2 league cups in 20 years!!!

‘Chelsea they have a bigger supporter base in Asia and around the world’
