Arsenal, Liverpool & Tottenham Miss Out On £20m Ace

By on July 12, 2011

Juan Mata, who is a reported target for Premiership trio Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham, is staying at Valencia.

The talented winger had been linked with a £20million move to the Premiership, but Valencia chairman Manuel Llorente was quick to quash any speculation linking his star player with a move away from the club.

“We have no intention of selling him and we have not received any formal offers for the player,” Llorente told Superdeporte.

“The news that has appeared in the papers is nothing more than speculation – Juan Mata is not for sale.”

The gifted attacker was instrumental to the Spanish Under 21 team that was victorious in Denmark in the recent European Championship and was apart of the squad that won the 2010 World Cup.

The wide man has been linked with a move away from the club previously with Real Madrid interested in the player, but such a move has failed to materialise with Valencia adamant that Mata will not be sold.

Torres and others were supposedly not for sale. Clubs play these games to up the prices of their in demand players. I believe Liverpool will get their man and Mata will be a red before long.

Why haven’t Liverpool made a move for this player??? Rafa would have. Wonder what great players Rafa would have bought after finally receiving transfer funds and backing.
Mata for one. Wouldn’t have gone near Downing, esp. for over £10mil.

Rafa is a thing of the PAST, the same as a lot of his PAST mediocre signings. He certainly would not have bought Mata, he is far to attacking minded for a Benitez team.

Look at our future, its all Rafa. Even Kenny has praised Rafa for the youth system he set up.
The players are Suso, Sterling amongst others. Very attack minded.
Alonso with his vision, was only sold because Rafa wasn’t given money, he used that to buy quick attacking player Robbie Keane. Although didn’t work out Rafa had strikers on the books. Torres, Voronin, Keane, Ngog, Crouch, Babel, Kuyt. He didn’t ever have £35mil in a transfer window to spend let alone on one player.
Our Forwards are Carroll, Ngog, Kuyt – Were is the attack ??

Another NUMPTY. You are not gonna sit there and tell me or anyone who supports Liverpool that Rafa is a better manager than Kenny. And as for Spanish class and not english dross, he upset Alonso (spanish) and tried to replace him with Barry (English dross). Wouldn’t have been so bad if he got Barry but he left us with neither.
You are the Numpty of the week for this comment.

What Happened to Steve McMahon and you other idiots that think Rafa done a good job, the signings he made were atrocious, diabolical!! Keane 20mil, aqua 18mil, and glen johnson, bought kut as a forward but played him wide dossena another waste of 7mil,the list is endless, got rid of crouch but kepy ngog and that joke vorinin, what planet are you people on, the football was boring, his comments embarrasing. He got a couple of good signings torres, mascarano and alonso, alonso went cos the waiter wanted barry!! He would never of won the league coz he is arrogant. You say he had no money but wasted 58 mil on the first three players i mentioned, his players he bought in the 5mil to 10mil bracket were sh.te. The players wernt happy with his tactics either. he won champs league, with a team he inherited from houlier, instead of moving forward after istanbul, we went backwards. We came close in the league one season, but if he had kept his mouth shut regarding the FACT business with manure we may have won the title, coz after that rant , we never won a game for ages
WE STRUGGLED AGAINST HAVANT AND WATERLOO, GOT BEAT BY BARNSLEY, good ridance
