TRANSFER NEWS: Fergie Claims Nasri Has Agreed To Leave Arsenal

By on July 11, 2011

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has claimed Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri has agreed to join another club, however he won’t be heading to Old Trafford.

Nasri has strongly been linked with a move to United’s rivals City, with a £25m fee reportedly close to being agreed.  United were early favourites to sign Nasri this summer and apparently had a £20m offer turned down. Speaking after arriving in the US for United’s pre-season tour, Fergie claimed the Frenchman has already agreed to join another club but the club in question is not United:

“I don’t think he is coming to United,” said Ferguson.

“That is all I can tell you. I think that he has agreed to go somewhere else.”

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger said he fully expected Nasri to be at Arsenal next season, despite only having 1 year left on his current deal, and some have suggested the Londoners would be prepared to let the player run down the last year of his contract, something Ferguson feels would be a brave move by Wenger:

“That is his decision,” said Ferguson. “He is the manager.

“If he stands by that decision, it is a brave one. I don’t know if the (Arsenal) directors will enjoy that one, but it is possible.

“Maybe he will have to stay.”

It’s sad that arsenal r losing players to city.
I don’t understand the arsenal fans that say “I’d rather him join city than utd”. I would imagine if I supported arsenal I could stomach losing players to utd, barca and real, they r the 3 biggest clubs in the world. But not city.

We’d rather sell to city than united because we hate united more. Sure we hate city too but that’s only from their riches in the last few years, which we’ve taken advantage of brilliantly. The rivalry with united stretches back for decades. Always hated em more, always will. It’s the smugness of the majority of their fans who have no real reason to support them other than they just pick the team that wins more that adds to it, as well as ol’ red nose and his stupid chewing gum grin and the bollocks he spouts about referees just because he won’t ever take the blame when his team plays like shit. That’s why.

He’s off we all know it – 180k a week at City – typical of modern footballers using the excuse I want to win things. I’d of liked him at United even though he tailed off 2nd half of last season being a soft French smacked Ars*. Good player but United are going to get caught short this season as the midfield is the weakest of the top6 FACT

Our midfield is strong in terms of numbers, just lacking a real star. We have best wingers in prem, the best back 4 ( our 2nd choice back 4 is better than arsenals) and great strikers.
I still think we will sign a world class midfield playmaker.
      I’d b worried if I was a arsenal fan.

your midfield is poor, whats numbers when they are sunderland quality, you right about the real star, you need a couple, also about best back 4, man city and chelsea conceded less goals than you, so they are better there. wingers your probably right

if nasri were to leave for city, he would be only the first player out of that lot to leave with arsenal fully desperate for him to stay. the trest went when the club and its supporters became either indiferent or fell out of love for them. so kev, donot generalise. eg no matter how weak the arsenal defence might appear now, no one mentions kolo’s departure as the reason. neither do they think adebayor really left a hole in attack, actually the latter player has become mancity’s bad egg, so why do you think arsenal lost a player in a known rebel?
    as to your view that

I believe that nasri will sign a new deal at Arsenal and wont go anywhere… If he had to go to City It might work against him at this stage of his career…And fergie go and get Modric from you frind at white heart lane,he will sell for 40 million the yids always sell to you Carrick anyone!!

Where did Fergie learn about this so called agreement? Is it an agreement between himself and Nas or between AW and Nas? How did it come to his knowledge if it was between the later pair? Isn’t this another mischief making story?

The real reason he has put out this statement is to destabilise Arsenal fans. He knows that Arsenal are true title contenders and constantly puts messages like this into the media. Why doesn’t he put such messages out about other star players or other rival clubs?

Nasri is not d best player in world. If he wnt 2 live mr wenger should let him go. He migth be the bad luck for d club no mater his quality.

The full sentence from Fergie ““That is all I can tell you. I think that he has agreed to go somewhere else, or he may stay at Arsenal” Another lousy site looking for hits on half truths!!!

Even if Nas is going somewhere else, it is not in fergie’s gift to make the announcement. The truh is that Nas is not joining Manure. Thats all he knows!
