Arsenal Snap Up Two Teenage Starlets

By on July 13, 2011

Arsenal have managed to nab the signature of Gervinho, but that hasn’t changed Wenger’s habit at all, as he has brought in two promising young, exciting prodigies.

So, Who are they?

Well, technically they’ve only managed to bring in one name officially, but they’re very close to bringing in the other, as they have landed him on trial. The teenager that they have landed is IFK Norrköping midfielder Kristoffer Olsson.

I can confirm that the deal is done, but I won’t comment on any numbers. But we are pleased with the deal.

Arsenal sporting director Tony Martinsson told younggunsblog.co.uk

The other kid that they are close to signing is Lokomotiv Plovdiv winger Nenad Lukić. Lukić is just 18 years old and Arsene Wenger is reportedly interested in bringing in the Serbian to bolster his options for the left wing spot.

And How Much?

Well, according to the source, the deal for Kristoffer Olsson has been completed for £293k. Lukic however isn’t signed up yet, but is reportedly very close to a switch to the Emirates.

Just How Good Are They?

Not much has been said about exactly how good Kristoffer Olsson is nor in fact what position he plays in midfield. But being so young and being snapped up by Arsenal really says something, doesn’t it?

Young Guns Blog have praised Lukic for his acceleration along with his skill with the ball. A very creative winger and from what I’ve seen in videos (below), I think that he draws similarities with Lille man Eden Hazard.

I am looking at his game and find him single-footed, ie his left foot.

He could be marked out quite easily unless he learns how to enable his fight foot too.

One of the problems we had after Pires left was that we have so many single footed players, ie Walcott. They can be marked out too easily because they are effectively dead on the other side of their foot.

But he is really young and has a good height so there are change that he can bring his game to next level.

I can see a good future in LUKIC.He has wat is required of a good player:the height, speed and pace, just to mention but a few…NONETHELESS,Arsene Wenger needs to strenghten the defence line with skillful defenders, and try to bring in a good defensive midfielder too that can withstand the pressure on the field when the need arises as Song is a bit sluggish in that area, though,he’s putting is bit.
