Liverpool Star Happy He Rejected Inter Milan Move

Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt was subject to a bid from Inter Milan last summer, but the Dutchman opted to stay at Anfield.

The Dutch international choose to reject former boss Rafa Benitez after the former Kop boss wanted him to join him at the San Siro. The 30-year old believes he made the right decision to stay in Liverpool. Kuyt said:

“I wanted to stay at Liverpool but also wanted to challenge for trophies.

“You want to see the club moving forward and that’s exactly what happened after the first half of the season.

“But the least we should aim for now is the Champions League.”

I think the competition for places is going to mean that Dirk will probably play less time over the season, but the could well prolong his career at the club. NO BODY can do what Dirk does for 38 games a season, as he gets older I think he would be an ideal impact player who could change games late on.

People seem to forget his contributions towards the club last season, especially when he took up the duty of banging in goals when Carroll is out and Suarez is still adjusting. Granted, he is not a right winger as many fans have hoped but he has played well, tireless on the field, closing opponents down at the front. I just thought fans should understand how good a player he is before blasting him or wanting to get rid of him.
