Redknapp: If We Sell Modric, It Will Be For More Than £35million

By on July 23, 2011

Harry Redknapp insists if Spurs do sell Luka Modric, it will be for more than £35million. Harry was commenting after reports suggested Chelsea were lining up a third bid for Modric thought to be in the region of £30-35million pounds.

“If we were looking at selling, it wouldn’t be my valuation,” he told Sky Sports News when asked whether £35million would be enough to prise Modric from his grasp.

“I think he is worth an awful lot more money than that.

“But we are not looking to sell Luka. We need to keep our best players, so he is a player we want to keep if possible.

“It’s in the hands of the chairman of the football club (Daniel Levy), it’s not my decision. I work with him as the coach, but the chairman says he is not for sale so we will have to wait and see. He is quite determined, if we can, to hang onto him.

“It’s a difficult situation. It’s a difficult one for Luka and it’s a difficult one for Tottenham.”

A LOT more, I would think. He is the future of Spurs, and if playing for the PL championship and getting back into the CL means anything to us he will not be sold for any price.
Once and for all Tottenham must restate they are NOT a selling club.

I think spurs should recognise we are in the decent end of thecamount of money modric is worth and should enter negotiation with Chelsea, at the end of the day they could probably squeeze 5m onto that by negotiating then get to the price that he is worth bout 5m in appearance ect.. Daniel levy should open his wallet pump an extra 10 mill in plus 20mill player sales your looking at 70 mill to spend on two decent strikers and a new creative medfielder would be a fair deal I think.otherwise I think spurs may struggle this year even if they do hang on to modric and he’ll end up leaving in january or next summer anyway!

It is not wise Spurs to be depended only on one player (VDV) to win a game.
If Spurs sell Modric then the club has to buy a desperately needed midfielder who would be more creative and more effective than Modric and able to score a number of goals each season plus two consistently scoring strikers.

Sell him to the highest bidder adroard.
And not to one of our rivals,(ie Chelsea,Man U) even if it means taking less money, just as long as we make a profit on the 16mil that we paid for him.

Modric isn’t worth more than £25m. Harry is stupid, a stupid fool who’s trying to get as much profit as he can from Chelsea. They’ll end up losing Luka cheaply if they don’t accept a £30m offer from Chelsea. I understand Chelsea may be in need of a creative midfielder, but we’re not that desperate. We can sign a better and cheaper option ”Jaoa Mountinho”

Levy says he stays. End off. Why is Harry Redknapp looking to sell him. I think Levy is a ‘worm-eaten’ little shite who is playing games.
