Spurs Legend: We Must Keep Modric & Bale To Challenge Top Four

Tottenham hero Les Ferdinand claims the club must do everything they can to keep Luka Modric away from Chelsea.

The 25-year old has been subject to two rejected bid from the West London club with reports suggesting the club are preparing a third.

The Croatian himself has admitted he wants to leave the club, but chairman Daniel Levy insists the player will not be sold. Ferdinand believes its “imperative” the club show ambition and keep hold of the playmaker. He told talkSPORT:

“We’ve been saying for the last few years now if we get into the Champions League it was imperative that we keep hold of our best players.

“If you want to be competitive in this league, challenge for the top four and have aspirations of challenging for the title then you need to keep the likes of Luka Modric and it is up to us to try and keep hold of him and Gareth Bale.”

    why would u want to keep luka if he doesn’t want ? Dat bad and very bad u will regret keep him

    With that been said, what concrete news is there on any new signings, just to convince these two that Spurs is really serious about qualifying for the top four. These two with Walker were the only convincing trio that showed some ability on the S.A.tour – the balance were unfit & showed very little signs of improving on their performances.
