TRANSFER NEWS: £10m Striker Move Reported

By on July 27, 2011

Newcastle have been linked with a sensational move for Tottenham’s Jermain Defoe. The 28-year old is rated at around £10million and the North London club would be prepared to listen to offer for the prolific striker.

The striker had a disappointed time in front of goal last season scoring only four times in the Premiership. The Sun claims Defoe could be set for a move North after the Magpies were quoted £9million for striker partner Peter Crouch who was also a target for Pardew. And Pardew said:

“I’m not going to use the word ‘promise’, it is a dangerous word. However, I am confident we will get a striker in.

“Plenty of fans have come out to see us and mentioned on more than one occasion to me, ‘Where’s the striker?’ It is not something that is far from my mind.”

What is it with this site?! This article came out on every other news site, blog, paper and radio station 2 days ago, and you post it here like its breaking news! I don’t suppose you know, but Defoe came out this morning and said he doesn’t want a move to Newcastle. Seriously, if your just going to regurgitate old news stories then just don’t bother publishing anything at all.

You seem to have forgotten a certain thing called wages. You moan about them but suggest signing players who want massive wages?

Be no sell on fees either so just money down the drain from a business point of view.

What is sensational about it? Besides he doesn’t want a pay cut so won’t be going north.
