REPORTS: Mata Favours Arsenal Move With £13m Deal Imminent

Arsenal are hoping to tie up Valencia winger Juan Mata within the next 24 hours.

Arsenal are hoping to tie up Valencia winger Juan Mata within the next 24 hours, with the talented winger identified as an ideal replacement for want-away midfielder Samir Nasri.

Valencia coached Unai Emery had claimed the sale of Mata was “possible” if a bigger club offered the right money for the player, something chairman Manuel Llorente quickly dismissed after he explained the 23-year would not be leaving the Mestalla.

The Daily Star reports that Mata could be an Arsenal player as soon as the weekend with reports suggesting Arsenal have tied up the winger for as little as £13million.

The wide-man was instrumental to the side that recently won the Under 21 European Championship and was touted as one of the best players of the tournament. Arsenal must fight of interest from local rivals Tottenham but the Spaniard is thought to favour a switch to the Emirates.

i think wenger should use arshavin in cescs role.. he is a great player.. he cant play as a winger, his natural position is just behind the striker.. just behind RvP.. well anothr option will be RvP to play cesc’s role and we have an outright top striker – dont know if gervinho is that man thou..
