Chelsea Convinced Tottenham Will Sell Modric

By on August 2, 2011

Chelsea are convinced that they can secure the signing of want-away Tottenham ace Luka Modric this summer.

The Blues have had two bids rejected for the Croatian midfielder with Chelsea thought to be preparing a third offer believed to be in the region of £30million, reports the Sun.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy remains adamant the midfielder will not be sold, but it seems Chelsea won’t take no for an answer and are planning internal talks to discuss their next move. Chelsea have also missed out on Javier Pastore who is set to sign for French outfit PSG. The 22-year old was another playermaker Andre Villa-Boas had targeted this summer but the Argentine opted for a move to Ligue 1.

New Blues chief Andre Villas-Boas has already spoken with Stamford Bridge chief executive Ron Gourlay about new signings. When asked about Modric, Gourlay said:

“I don’t like talking about players from other clubs. But that’s something we’ll look at during the week and we’ll take it from there.

“We really need to sit down with Andre and talk this through.

“Even though we’ve been travelling in the Far East for the past two weeks, you can still be active in the marketplace nowadays.

“The communication is always there with our guys back in London or wherever they are around the world.”

These quotes are from several days ago. I thought the Internet was meant to bring news faster, not regurgitate it days after everyone has already read it elsewhere. Worthless, time-wasting tripe.

As a Spurs fan I welcome this news.

Chelsea wont get him, but i hope they keep their plans based around getting him so they miss out all together.

How can Chelsea be convinced that they can secure the signing of want-away Tottenham ace Luka Modric this summer. Unless they are in touch with Modric and connived a plan with him, they cannot be convinced of anything. Everything here stinks of ‘tapping up’, which we know happened, when Chelsea went public with their bid. One day ‘good men’ will stop sitting back while others connive, ignoring regulations and basic good manners.

OLD WINE IN A NEW BOTTLE. MAN YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED TO COPY AND PASTE FROM OTHERS. THE NEWS IS 3 OR 4 DAYS OLD. AND YOU STOLE IT AND GAVE A NEW TITLE?? WHATEVER SPURS FANS SHOULD TRY TO FORGET LUKA NOW THAN LATER. HE IS NOT GONNA STAY IN A MEDIOCRE CLUB ANY LONG. HE SIGNED FOR SPURS TO COME TO ONE OF THE BEST LEAGUES IN THE WORLD AND TO GET HIMSELF KNOWN TO BIG CLUBS AND WITH HIS HIGH CLASS PERFORMANCES IN THE LAST FEW SEASONS HE PROVED IT TO BIG CLUBS. SO OBVIOUSLY HE WILL WANT TO MOVE ON TO A WORLD CLASS CLUB. SO SPURS FANS SHOULD NOT ACT LIKE CRY BABIES. YOURS IS A MID TABLE CLUB AND LUKA IS A WORLD CLASS PLAYER. ISN’T IT A WRONG PROPORTION. BUT CHELSEA ONE OF THE BEST CLUBS IN EUROPE AND LUKA ONE OF THE BEST MIDFIELDERS IN EUROPE.

If ChelseaChelsea makes an infantile comment using the word “Cos” twice and referring to Levy as a right arse(one presumes this literary challenged inadequate actaully meant tight rather than right) is nhe actually a cabbage rather than a lettuce he seems so fond of???

COS I’m right, all you can DO is attack my grammar. sorry but green isn’t a good colour for spurs(envy) at least we recognise talent and reward it with a superstars wage as opposed to MID-table wage. also offering medals in the process.

I’ll suggest chelsea spur up the chase of luka modric. He’s worth any amount placed on him, even though levy isn’t ready to let go of him, with the amount placed on his head will lead spurs management to surcum to their bidding.

What is wrong with Mr. Levy?.in fact, this is slavery! Levy should please allow Luka Modric to make his rightful move to Chelsea than keeping the promising young talent under hostage and slavery. He should free Modric who had earlier made his intention of leaving the white Hartlane known before now. Finally, my candid advice to Chelsea is that after making their final bid of £3O OR £32M pounds & no positive result comes forth;they should totally forget Modric & focus their on another player elsewhere. By the way,Chelsea has morethan enough midfielders to make use of.THANKS. Blues 4 life.

Yeah what wrong wiv Levy…Modric should be freed like Nelson Mandela…Tottenham are like Hitler and Apartheid in SA…Poor Luka only paid £40k a week and can’t afford to buy loaf of bread for his family and has to resort to busking in Underground Station and selling hotdogs at night….why do tottenham make Luka’s life so miserable…makes me want to cry like the tart I am. THANKS Blues 4 life (for last 2 year me not plastic) THANKS
