Chelsea have missed out on one of their top targets after Javier Pastore joined French outfit PSG. The ambitious Ligue 1 club have snapped up the promising 22-year old for a fee thought to be around £30million.

The Blues were strongly linked with the playermaker but the South Amercian superstar has opted for a switch to PSG.

“You can say I am officially a PSG player, but I just need to have my medical and sort out other details. I am anxious to try this new adventure, PSG are a great club with great history,” Pastore said.

Pastore is sad to be leaving Palermo but has fond memories in Serie A.

“I have the best memories and I want to thank my former team-mates, the directors and the fans,” he added.

“I leave with happiness, but inside my heart there is a little sadness.

“I want to win the league and the cup, I would like the team to win everything,” he continued.

“In particular, I want to give my best in every game and I am very happy that they have believed in me.”
