Arsenal Rocked As RVP, Vermaelen & Gibbs Add To Growing Injury List

Arsenal have been rocked by three fresh injuries to Robin van Persie, Thomas Vermaelen and Kieran Gibbs with the season less than a week away.

The Dutch ace scored in the Gunners latest preseason defeat to Benfica and unfortunately for Wenger the 27-year old picked up a knock.

“It is an ankle problem, I don’t know how bad it is,” Wenger told Arsenal.com.

Wenger also has doubts on fullback Kieran Gibbs and Thomas Vermaelen.

“Gibbs has a muscular [thigh] problem and Vermaelen has a slight back problem.”

Gunners fans will be hoping for good news on the key trio as Arsenal already have a growing injury list which includes Theo Walcott, Jack Wilshere, Abou Diaby and Laurent Koscielny.
