Arsenal Ace: Wenger To Sign Replacements Before Selling Nasri & Fabregas

By on August 10, 2011

Marouane Chamakh thinks Arsenal will lose both Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri this summer.

The striker believes Wenger is resigned to losing the pair this summer and is currently looking for their replacements, however Chamakh believes Arsenal should only let Cesc Fabregas leave due to his connections with Barcelona:

“I think both players will quit the club,” the Moroccan striker told L’Equipe.

“I don’t think it’s a matter of money for the Fabregas or Samir deals being held up, I think it is a case that the manager is looking for their successors and he hasn’t been able to find them.

“I think before letting them go, he wants to find the players to replace them. That’s my opinion about the situation.

“The problem is the season starts this weekend, and it’s even more difficult for us now.”

He added: “I think in the situation the club is in, they should only let one leave.

“Cesc – he’s wanted to leave for several seasons because he’s born in Barcelona.

The forward believes Arsenal have received a good offer for Nasri and believes it would be naive to let the player leave next summer for free and miss out on the substantial fee currently offered for him. He also questioned how the club could allow a player such as Nasri to enter his final year of a contract without signing an extension:

“But Samir is now in a situation where he has one year left on his contract, so if they don’t sell him this summer he will leave for free at the end of the season.

“Is the club ready in a situation to refuse a little bit more than £17.5 million (€20m) to keep a good player for just one season?

“I would like Samir to stay at the club. It’s very strange – at a club like Arsenal – that he’s now been left with one year on his contract.

“It is bizarre that they have not managed to sign an extension with him.”

Paulie, people like you don’t deserve someone like Wenger. Maybe years of mid table mediocrity under Bruce Rioch or someone like that would have been better for you. Instead we’ve won titles, cups etc and even in the last six years we’ve been in 3 finals. As for the African fans, You wouldn’t have even heard of Arsenal if he hadn’t signed people like Kanu, Kolo & Eboue.

Mr Finch, respect for defending Wenger but what the hell are you talking about with African supporters and what’s that got to do with anything? Get a grip! I’m not African but how would you possibly know if supporters would have known about Arsenal? Don’t be silly

Wenger should be the one to leave. His refusal to get the gk and other defenders is what is causing the current malaise. The top gunners have enough of his broken promise to buy decent quality players.
Instead he has gone french and we know what had happened.
