Arsenal’s Andrey Arshavin was forced off after just 28 minutes while on international duty for Russia after a head collision left him with a cut above the left eye. The injury didn’t look serious but it seemed like a small cut on the eyelid and it’s not yet known whether the injury required stitches, but if the eye swells up it could make him a doubt for Saturday’s opening day clash with Newcastle.
