Drogba Could Be Offered In Modric Deal As Talks Stall

By on August 18, 2011

Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has yet to agree deal to stay at Stamford Bridge beyond next season and could be used as bait to land Modric.

Contract talks have stalled in recent weeks with suggestions Drogba wants improved terms on the contract that is due to expire next summer. Andre Villas-Boas admits the club are evaluating the discussions. He said:

“Didier knows our offer, and he has made a counter offer. Now we are evaluating some things.”

Tottenham are also interested in the 33-year old and speculation has been mounting that the Ivorian could be used as bait in their attempts to lure Luka Modric away from White Hart Lane this summer.

Drogba deserves the utmost respect from Chelsea having played his heart out. 2 year extension would be a noble idea!

they should let him go if they want to get the best out of the other strikers especially Torres who is far more class than Drogba when on top of his game.
    hope Lukaku blends though
