Arsenal vs Liverpool: Preview & Predicted Team

By on August 20, 2011

Arsenal take on Liverpool in what will be our first Premier League match at the Emirates this season. Since our manager believes there is no one good enough to sign in the market, we will be fielding a very young side today.

The injury table resumes its normal duties and this week we have another 4 additions. DJ, Gibbs, Traore and Rosicky. They join Diaby and Wilshere on the sidelines. Gervinho and Alex Song ,will start their 3 match bans.

RVP will resume his role as captain and he will start as the lone striker. Beside may be Theo and Alex. Our defense should be Vermaelen, Kosher, Sagna most probably Jenkinson, unless the boss decides to move TV to left back and start Squillaci.

Since Song is absent, Frimpong will probably take his place a CDM. Ramsey will play ahead of him as CAM, most likely alongside Arshavin. Nasri will most probably not play against Liverpool as he finalises his deal with City, although Arsene has said he is available and in the squad.

Its is going to be a very difficult game for us, as already we have played Udinese on Tuesday and will play with a depleted team. Liverpool are a new side, and having spent over £50 million in the transfer window will be difficult to beat. Last season’s game saw a cracking finish as we drew 1-1 with the two late penalties.

Guns-out,
