Arsenal Miss Out On Danish Midfielder

By Fab4.

Reported Arsenal target Christian Eriksen has ended speculation about his future by signing a new contract with Ajax until 2014.

Arsenal have been tracking the young midfielder after Gunners legend Dennis Bergkamp, now coaching at Ajax, was said to have recommended Eriksen to Arsene Wenger.

The player attracted interest after breaking into the Ajax first team at just 18 years old, and Manchester United, Chelsea and Barcelona are all believed to have joined Arsenal in tracking his development.

But Eriksen has committed to Ajax and claims now is not the time to make a move to a top club.

‘I’ve read the rumours linking me with Arsenal and Barcelona, but that is all they are, rumors.

‘People are free to write whatever they want, but I have not been in touch with any of these clubs. I’m too young to leave Ajax for a European giant yet.’

I can’t say I’m too disappointed at missing out on yet another young technically gifted midfielder! I think there are other positions that need addressing, like a world class goalkeeper.

We do not need this guy. Ramsey is way better and we have got Willshere. We need Hart/Lloris/Szczesny , Sakho , Richards/Subotic/Zapata, Agbonlahor and Chamakh and maybe dm=Sissoko?
