CONFIRMED: Arsenal Have Bid Rejected For Ligue 1 Ace

By on August 20, 2011

Marseille boss Didier Deschamps has revealed that Arsenal have failed in a bid to sign Lucho Gonzalez on loan.

Gonzalez has been linked with a move away from France this summer, with clubs in both Spain and Italy credited with interest, but a move has yet to materialise.

The Gunners have previously been linked with Gonzalez’s team mates Andre Ayew and Mathieu Valbuena, but it seems Wenger was actually interested in the 30-year-old after Deschamps confirmed he enquired about taking him on loan:

“I spoke to him and the one that really interests them is Lucho Gonzalez,” Deschamps confirmed at a news conference.

“Arsene Wenger believes that it is a great player who could be useful to his team even though he does not fit in with his recruitment policy.

“He wanted him on loan but it was not acceptable to us, there are no negotiations.”

100% agree arsene wenger is deluded. The only thing i can think of is that players like bendtner and squalachi are good in training because from match performances i would say stoke have a better defence….. Wot a joke!
