Udinese vs Arsenal: Preview & Predicted Team – Will Nasri Start?

By on August 23, 2011

I am going to be honest here. If it was any other team I would not be bothered, and I would still have faith in this young Arsenal side. But after watching Udinese’s performance against us I have to admit we MAY NOT be playing champions league football this season.

We come off a Liverpool defeat which is very hard to take. And now we face an Italian team (which had more than 1 chance of scoring against us in London) at a ground in which they have had 4 losses last season 2 of which have been against Juventus and Roma.

I have heard about a few rumours circulating that if we do qualify for the champions league a few signings will be finalised. And that these deals are on stall because of the uncertainty over the fact whether Arsenal will play in the champions league or not.

If this is true then we surely tomorrow will be the biggest game of our ‘eventful’ season.

Gervinho is back for this match and so is Song. If Nasri starts, then I am sure he will not be going to City. Wilshere should start after coming through 3 days of training unscathed.

Probable line-up:

Szczesny, Jenkinson, Vermaelen, Djourou, Sagna, Song, Ramsey, Wilshere, Walcott, Gervinho, RVP.

Udinese will NOT be an easy team to beat. Moreover the conditions under which we are facing them are also quite arduous. I saw the first game at the Emirates and lets face it – It was pretty ugly. As I said before the side looked drained of ideas, and our midfield was getting dominated by Di Natale and Co.

Now I know many Gooners who just refuse to believe that we WON”T qualify for the UCL, but the fact of the matter is that there is a possibilty that this may happen. And, if this does happen, I can’t wait for the post match interview with our boss. Oh, wait…isn’t he banned?

Drop Walcott, he’s done nothing, I know he’s young, but he has good experience and other than the goal against Udinese, the performance was shocking as it was with Liverpool, he can’t cross, no ball control and between him and Arshavin (who i used to think was a really good player) have done nothing to help the cause.
To be honest, its the kids that have played better than the experienced guys (exception to Varmaelen, outstanding so far), at least they try!

Wenger are very stupid, when he knws dat cecs & nasri is leaving, why not purchased their replacement and get himself out of pressure.I promise He won;t sign anybody and why not give Chamberlain a chance in dis game to prove his €15m fee?

I don’t know why we should worry more about the result when both Wilshere and RVP are supposed to make it for the game (in the 1st leg they were replaced by Rosicky and Chamakh, both constant under-performers). Even if Wilshere misses it, Arsenal will still field a more even XI. The next few games may be rather unpleasant for the team, because we will always miss one, two, three or even more key players in the EPL, and we can still lose Nasri. Since we know next to nothing about a possible replacement for him, it’s best to assume Ramsey will be a regular, with Lansbury as backup.
If there’s anything we should worry about it’s whether Arsenal can get through the next EPL game without becoming sour with the game.

Wilshere is injured, Im sure he will play Song & Frimpong, as they both are suspended for the Man.Utd. game.
I wouldnt start Walcott as he was shocking Vs Liverpool, Id give a shock start to Ryo just to surprise Udinese.

Probable starting XI 4-2-3-1, if Im thinking like Wegner

    Szczesny
Jenkinson, Vermaelen, Djourou, Sagna, Song, Frimpong
    Gervinho, Ramsey, Ryo/Arshavin/Walcott
    RVP

Why are we in this mess? Because Wenger failed to strengthen the squad last year
he had two transfer windows but declined to do so this is negligence in my book
Lets be honest if we do somehow squeeze through how far do you think we would go in this competition?
Again players could have been bought between the Newcastle game and this but still no signings of quality and i don’t believe there will be fair-well RVP either before the window closes of in January

Wenger is d cause of our problem. It is because his making money for d club but not minding d players achievement as footballer. Winning medals is important in football career. Arsenal is loosing fans day by day, season to season. As a fan, i want to celebrat trophy too

yeah sack off arshavin, would honestly rather we sold him and played ryo… i used to love him, but he is now shocking, there is no way around that. wilshere is out, so far i think ramsey has been dross, but he is being played as a deep lying playmaker which he isnt… dont think we should start ryo, he surely cant quite be ready, bring him on around the 65th or so… i would prefer this… 4-4-2 FOR FUCKS SAKE

    RVP

let rvp play as a deep lying striker and let walcott run off him. the midfield is too hard to pick like this, but maybe a 4-1-3-2, just so we have 2 fucking strikers making runs, and song as the deep lying, and potentially frimpong as the box to box… btw- anyone else so excited by him?
