REPORTS: Eden Hazard Agrees Arsenal Move

By on August 27, 2011

Reports in France are suggesting that Arsenal have reached an agreement with Eden Hazard‘s representatives over a transfer to the Emirates.

According to respected French media outlet Mercato 365′s, Arsenal had a 30 million euro bid rejected, are now set to launch a 35 million euro bid which should be enough to secure the Player of the Season last year. Eden is keen to join his ex-teammate Gervinho in North London, and with Arsenal’s place secured in the Champions League group stage it seems he is set to complete his transfer after agreeing terms on the move.

The report read:

“As we made it clear it to you previously, Arsenal has just formulated a proposal of thirty million euros for Belgian international attacker Eden Hazard (20), whose contract expires in June 2015, but without success. A new offer of thirty-five million euros is set to be made.

According to our information, the Lille player has already made an agreement with the Gunners over a future transfer. Concern is very much on the side of the club of president Michel Seydoux.”

Whilst spending a big bulk of his budget on the 20 year old may be a risk, Arsene knows about attacking talent and Eden can be playing for Arsenal for years to come. Hopefully the news which has broken from Mercato 365 – one of France’s most prestigious sports websites – turns out to be true.

The news comes as a surprise after Lille’s president has repeatedly dismissed stories of Eden’s departure, most recently saying:

“Eden will not be leaving this season,” said Paquet. “We are aware of interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe but we are not prepared to sell.”

Whether Hazard will end up at Arsenal this summer is not certain, but if the stories are to believed, we have made a big step forward to securing his signature before next weeks deadline.

This seems unlikely. How can a player agree terms before a transfer fee is accepted? Why would Lille shoot themselves in the foot like this?

Mate gervinho agreed terms before a fee was agreed

Players do this all the time so they know the deal is done before they risk upsetting the fans declaring they want to leave..

Hope he comes but sounds like media rubbish to me, these amounts rarely come out unless the selling club is wanting to sell, ala Cahill.

The storty is true. Hazard’s French club has just signed Ireneusz Jelen a Polish stiker/winger as a replacement. And they are also closing in on Joe Cole. This all suggests Eden Hazard will join Arsenal at any moment.

Could be true, the press haven’t been saying that Hazard wants to come to Arsenal, just reports that their President is holding out for more cash and a 35million Euro deal for a 20 year old seems hard to turn down. Also it has never been Arsenal’s style to come out with big news about any transfer they always like to have terms agreed before they face the media….Lets just wait and see

The Bear prefers the wait and see approach. In football one must never get too worked up. One hopes may suddenly get dashed.

Eden Hazard to Arsenal is classical hazardous smokescreen by Wenger & Co to deflect mounting scrutiny from fans. First things first though: The Arsenal tragedy continues on sunday as the club heads to the “slaughter-house” and to be hammered to pulp by Man Utd at Old Trafford. Red-nose Alex Ferguson is a soccer master-psychologist who would never back-up Arsene Wenger when Arsenal still boasted a squad to reckon with in 2003. Now, Fergie realises that Arsenal are fielding a squad of mainly “fisher-men” for tomorrow’s match (and he will obliterate them), so he offers this sarcastic “support” for the clueless Arsene Wenger. So now, the Arsenal situation is so bad, foe Fergie, now “protects” Wenger from his own fans pressing for some quality signings before 31st August 2011! In fact, realistic Arsenal fans shouldn’t go to Old Trafford – for another round of pain. For a curiously strange reason (it could be marijuana and/or cocaine consumption), Wenger + Board decided 2011/2012 is the season they wind-up Arsenal as a foot-balling entity. As it has turned out, the “busy summer” they promised, meant auctioning of Arsenal’s star players! The transfer window closes in mid-week but can obstinate Wenger + his parasitic Board having refused to strengthen the squad since June 2011 be trusted to do so by Wednesday? RIP Arsenal FC!

That was an unbelieveably accurate prediction. We really were battered to pulp by Utd. We were also obliterated by them as predicted. You were also spot on about ferguson. So, what do you think will happen next? and give me six random numbers, between 1 and 49.

If you look through the Arsenal Management both the Manager and the share holders they use to keep on disappointing their Fans around the world if look at how Arsene Winger keep lying to theArsenal Fans at the begining of the transfer window where he short listed many big Names without signing any one. Base to my observation Arsenal Manager dose’nt want win any trophy at Arsenal again. Arsene has to be Fired and Bring some one In Who would give us the requared satisfiction. hey, i think you are underestimating arsenal…
they can spring up surprises whenever needed and i am sure they are gonna do the same tomorrow.

One thing we need 2 do is capitalise on sloppy deGeas weaknesses. If he dips his hands in vats of grease like he ritually does b4 a game, then RVP n the rest just need 2 keep shooting @ every opportunity. even goalkicks should b directed @ him! Seems wise old ferkason got it wrong this time round. Almunia anyone?

“fisher-men” sad. Mr. Wenger can you please stop lying to us. How can you surely wait until your best players leave that is when you start looking for replacements. I wonder whether you are still committed with our beloved club. Can you pack and leave if you are no longer interested in Arsenal.

I am FEB UP reading meaningless and false ‘reports’ from idiots… this site is full of rubbish which has no truth in it.
As for AW ? He has lost the plot… he is now panicking and will pay a heavy price in 7 months !!! I for one, will not renew my season ticket… I sure that just like this year, another 5,000 will do the same and not renew…

    • Gman

      August 27, 2011 at 3:17 pm

You are welcome not to renew your Season ticket as alot of people seem to think that because THEY have bought one the club MUST succeed.
I have friends who have given up their season tickets as a gesture of their displeasure at their club and they are the ones who lose out as when their club starts to do well they can never get another one.
Even if 5000 people said no do you not think 5000 other people would gratefully take your place as it is an honour to have a season ticket at a club like Arsenal and not a hardship.
Just because the Media has it in for Arsenal doesnt mean the fans have to jump on that bandwagon.
We need to be realistic and realise that we will ALWAYS have to sell our most valuable players as we cannot pay players 150k to 250k a week like others can so we need to find unpolished gems as the polished ones are out of our price league.

Moses people like yourself should keep their opinions to themselves as you are obviously not an Arsenal fan or you would be trusting Wengers Judgement and not coming out with a load of bull about Wenger and the board being high on drugs.
Are you a qualified coach with top level management experience?
    I didnt think so!
When will you glory hunters realise we have a competitive side year in year out that is in the hunt for 3 or 4 trophies every year, we have a 500 million pound stadium paid for during this time and we have a wage ceiling about 150k a week lower than Man U, Man C and Chelsea.
Get behind our great team or start supporting a team that can guarantee success with a limitless chequebook.
In Wenger I trust!! Up the Gunners!!
    Bring on Utd

Hey guys whatever the news comes out the fact is that Eden hazard has already expressed his desire to play for Arsenal if we through to CL group stage so i can figure out he will be at Emirates stadium by the end of wednesday to play alongside his ex-teammate Gervinho and his countryman Thomas Vermaleen.

In a small way I wanted Man U to give us a beating to force a few hands to act. Whether that happens however is another story all together.
