Agent: Chelsea & Man Utd Target Won’t Be Leaving

By on August 29, 2011

Wesley Sneijder’s agent doesn’t expect the Dutch ace to move on before Wednesday’s transfer deadline.

The Inter Milan playmaker was heavily linked with Manchester United this summer but a deal failed to materialise with rumours suggesting the midfielder demanded £250,000 a week to move to Old Trafford.

Despite interest cooling at Old Trafford, Sneijder was linked with a mega-money move to Manchester City last week but a move is unlikely with Samir Nasri arriving at the Eastlands.

Chelsea had been linked with the former Real Madrid ace yesterday but the 27-year old is unlikely to move to West London with the Blues favouring younger players in their bid to recapture the Premiership crown. But agent Davide Torchia says:

“Inter will hardly sell Sneijder.

“The big sale (Samuel Eto’o), the Nerazzurri have now done. Now, if they find something on the market, the big hit in my opinion will be someone coming in.”

    @ Bello
Iniesta and Xavi are both older, you wouldn’t want them? What ignorance, you’d rather get a player who hasn’t proven himself? That’s why Barca will always win.

sneijder is a great player, but what about proven talent in prem, all trouble with everton no one ever mentions arteta, cahill fantastic players who can hold their own against the big teams and would not break the bank or wage structure

His wage demands if met would rock the boat at Old Trafford. There are other options who are younger (Goetze and Ganso) and a lot of talent coming through (Morrison, Pogba, Tunnicliffe, Keane, so he needs United more than they need him. I think Wesley Sneijder is going to regret not making this move. I doubt United will pursue him next year. Inter would absolutely sell. Sneijder’s salary has put off would be buyers. A five year contract at United would have set him up for life.
