Eden Hazard Rules Out Arsenal Move

By on August 29, 2011

Eden Hazard has ruled out leaving Lille this summer, ending Arsenal’s hopes of signing him.

Hazard is thought to be Arsene Wenger’s top target this summer and the Gunners were thought to be willing to smash their transfer record to sign the exciting 20-year-old, with a bid of £25m mooted.

However, it seems Wenger will have to look elsewhere after the player insisted he is happy at Lille:

“I hope we will have an even better season than last year. Anyway, I enjoy it here. The rumours must stop. I am here.”

This is a very frustrating time for all us Arsenal fans. There is alot of work to be done with little time as the transfer window closes midnight Wednesday. I am sick and tired of us being linked to every player. I would like the money to be spent. According to my calculations we have over £120 million. Fabregas £35m, Nasri £25, Clichy £7m, Eboue £4m, JET £2m, Champions league £25m and money we already had which was around £30-£40m. Also hearing Traore is leaving to QPR, which means we don’t have a left back besides Gibbs who is injured. Now this is very worrying as we are selling but not bringing in replacements. Wenger has said we need 3 players, I disagree because if we left are squad from last season we were still short by 3-4 players. This season we have lost alot of players. We need to completely rebuild again with 6-7 players who have experience and are world class. I don’t understand why we spend stupid money on youngsters and are unwilling to spend a little more on proven players. This season will be another trophyless season if the Board and Wenger don’t get their act together. We have left it too late. Players I would like to see come in are Cahill, Vertonghen, Baines or Alvaro Pereira, Pereira seems likely to be going Chelsea though, Sneijder, Kaka, Benzema, Elia, Hazard, Hulk, Tevez. we have the money to spend so why not go out and spend, prove all the critics and our rivals wrong. Out of the players named if we could get 6-7 of them we would look like a team ready to challenge for the trophies. WENGER SPEND, I trust in Wenger, but seriously we need to buy quality to save our season from any more disaster.

Dude, just to clarify the distribution of funds.
First of all, The champions league revenue doesn’t go into the transfer pot.
Secondly, we’ve already spent 30 Mil on 4 players (that is out of the pre existing 40 mil, this is inclusive of their first year wages)
Finally, Fabregas’s transfer will be done over two fixed payments, 14.5 mil of which will be in advance and another 14.5 mil will be paid in October. the remaining 6 mil is comprised of add ons (this is linked with Barca acheivements etc.)
As for Nasri, part of the 25 mil will be paid to Marseille (3-4 Mil).
In reality we have around 60 mil rising to 75 in October.
I don’t think Wenger is in complete control of transfer activity and there is something we don’t know about happening between the board and the manager so people shouldn’t speculate or put complete responsiblity on Wenger
I don’t think he has enough time to bring in 6-7 players (I agree with you on that)
the more likely scenario is 3 players to sign before Wednesday’s deadline.
Finally, what kind of player is attracted to join a team that would lose 8-2 to one their rivals??

Kake= getting old and past it (also he doesn’t want to leave Madrid)
Benzema = doesn’t want to leave madrid
Hazard = pledged to stay at Lille for another year.
      Tevez= wants to leave England
Hulk= Far too expensive (rumour has it that a bid of 60 mil was rejected for him)
P.S. If United couldn’t afford Sneijder’s wages, how can we?

Cahill, Vertoghen and Elia remain possibilites but time is running out and we are getting very desperate so other clubs are likely to try to extort money out of us for their players.

And I don’t believe Cahill is as good as many make him out to be. He is worth at most $9m… Arsene started at $7, which is reasonable. Cahill is not better than Koscielny.

Arsenal needs an attacking midfielder with guts to make a good run at defense and to make defense splitting passes. Sorry…Ramsey not ready and rosicky is just too inconsistent…squad players.

I think Marvin Martin will be really welcome at this juncture , he seems to be the creative mid we require. He had the most assists in Ligue 1 last year and also has a very decent shot on goal. He seems to like shooting from outside the box – something that none in our current team seem to be able to do. And he is French – typical Wenger signing.
And I am really glad to see that there are others like me who don’t want Wenger’s head even after the bloodbath at OT.

yah he is right to say NO for now, i swear if he wanted him when Nass and FABB still in the clum im sure he could say yes. becaus he was always saying plz arsene come and get me come and get me since she was 18, 19, now you want him after loosing your key playes hahah thats funny No super star will come at arsenal under that board ,,, im sure next year he will go to real or MAN city bye bye wenger trophies will never come to arsenal i hope you have to take your money to let them play on the pitch coz money is better than playes for you, and profit is better than fans who pay high amount in Europe for ticket
thank you Wenger and your fake board i wish Dein was here it could never be the same.

why do arsenal fans thinking eden hazard is the solution?
personally i feel arsene wenger should now employ 6′ plus midfielders.
that midget for 30 millions you are having a laugh. you are all watching his youtube and get wet with his dribbling, have you seen his defending? does he have stamina to track back?

Rashid … Can I have that in English please.

THERE ARE 26 PEOPLE WORKING ON THE TRANSFERS AROUND THE CLOCK. Signings are happening. They just aren’t being announced yet. This goes for the ones already completed and the ones still in the pipeline.

If we were buying Hazard, he would be asked to give a statement like he has about staying at Lille. This would be to prevent a bidding war.

Rule of thumb -> If you have heard we are signing a player … THIS = We’re not.

Arsenal NEVER reveal to anyone they’re interested in signing a player. They even lie about it while negotiating.

    Cahill is going to Tottenham.

For me, the 8-2 defeat result is the best for Arsenal..
its show Sir AW how we really terrible at attacking and lack of creativity..
every time the ball cross into box, there is no one run for it..and we rarely become dangerous in box..
defensively..me just really disappointed with djorou…he really cant read the game(and the jenkison red card is because djorou lost marking) if T.V is here, i believe we are better team than Man.U..
for me…how to we become better team..put a striker hunger for goal(maybe Park-Chun is our answer)..put creativity in our team(we got wilshere and ramsey, maybe M”Vila?)
and the last is our T.V..the most important for our team..hope he can stop being injured..

this article looks to be clearly made up. It doesn’t even quote a source. Even still, I would tend to agree with Arsenal1Again. Whether or not a player says they will be staying means very little (as all Arsenal fans should know at this point). I have a hunch that one “Wow” signing might in fact be in the cards and Eden would certainly fit the bill. Nonetheless, I’m happy with the Santos signing. I think he will add real experience and quality to our side. One of my friend’s is a diehard Fenerbache supporter and he said losing Santos would be a major loss for them and a brilliant signing for Arsenal. The United game might ultimately prove the watershed moment Arsenal needed. As the saying goes…the only way to fix a problem is to start by admitting you have a problem. This appears to finally be the case. Shame it didn’t happen 3 months ago but hindsight is always 20-20 I guess, alas!

Wenger is a sly fox. Eden would of defiantly been told to keep quiet if we were in talks with him. And apparently wenger has been in France
