BREAKING NEWS: Arsenal Make Enquiry For Yossi Benayoun

By on August 29, 2011

Arsenal have contacted Chelsea about the availability of midfielder Yossi Benayoun, according to Sky Sports Sources.

The Gunners are on the look out for a creative player following the departures of Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas and it seems Arsene Wenger has identified Benayoun as a potential replacement.

The 29-year-old recently admitted he was looking to leave Stamford Bridge and was talking with several clubs, so Arsenal will face competition for his signature.

      you are all so stupid!!!
benayoun is the most underrated player!
his price is joke,i remember when he came to Liverpool all the fans laughed and finally he became the most valuable player after Torres (yes before SG!)
scoring 3Rd after them with much less chances(because as opposed to them nobody played for him!) ,he scored some of the most important goals for Liverpool, and at Chelsea too he was brilliant at the pres season but didn’t get any chances ,now he is for sale for 4.5!!! . what is your problem then???

Another Diddy Man? scrapping the barrel for Chelsea leftovers. What has Wenger been doing all Summer why have we let so many world class players who we were supposed to have an interest in slip through our fingers.
Through being frugal and waiting till the last minute, selling clubs watching that disgaceful performance yesterday will be able to call the shots as they will know that Arsenal and Arsene Wenger are desperate!!
Give me a shout if you need someone to show you how to play poker Wenger, as it seems that you havent a clue!

hear he wanted mmario goetz but was told 35 mill euros. I would offer 30 mill and reckon that would work. Goetz is amazing, better than Fab4 and 22 years old.

WE NEED WORLD CLASS BUYS WENGER

Why is the Arsenal board so determined to self destruct. We are linked with world class players for 3 months and nothing happens. Now we are being linked with the rejects from everywhere. What is really happening at Arsenal?

If this is true, then we are doomed. How can it be that we spend the whole transfer window looking for the ‘right quality players…’ and at the end all we could get was the leftover of the ‘big teams’. Is this the quality player we’ve been looking 4? If it is, then i say arsene and the board av g different definition of RIGHT and QUALITY in relation to arsenal.

I don’t understand why you guys are fuming this way. For me, I stopped stressing long time ago and only waits for whatever comes. Arsenal is my club no matter what! Even if you curse and swear when Malouda and Benayoun are the ones coming, there’s nothing you will change. Let me only look at what good things they will bring to Arsenal and not be pessimistic. They are both very experienced Premier League players, with some quality in them of course! Malouda will add some aggressiveness in an attack that has Arsenal has missed since Frddie Ljungberg. Benayoun will bring more finesse and directness, and goals of course. People are crying for Mario Goetze, Eden Hazard. They are very young, thin and really untested in England. I’m sure they would struggle to cope with the rigours of the league. They of course have the quality, but not the physicality. Besides, Arsenal have young players destined for greatness. Chamberlain, Miyaichi, Wilshere, Ramsey, Afobe,Gibbs, Jenkinson, etc. Why don’t you embrace the old heads to deepen the squad, add some immediate quality and experience, which would see the club through torrid times? Do you wait to see other young players arrive and then blame Wenger for not signing experience when the going gets tough? Come on Gooners, embrace whatever the manager brings!

Malouda is a very good player and will supply us with some musle as you said. Benayoun on the other hand is ‘thin’ as you put it and injury prone. With the small squad we have got, we need robust and resilient players who are not easily pushed about.
