Tottenham Transfer News: Spurs Target Diarra Joins AC Milan

By on August 30, 2011

Tottenham look set to miss out on Real Madrid midfielder Lassana Diarra after AC Milan agreed a loan deal, according to reports.

Spurs were thought to be close to capturing the defensive midfielder at the end of last week after agreeing a deal with Madrid. However, wages were thought to be holding up the deal from being completed.

According to reports in Italy today, AC Milan have moved swiftly to replace the injured Mathieu Flamini, who is set to miss 5 months through injury, and snapped up Diarra on a season long loan.

The news will be softened if Tottenham can complete a deal for England international Scott Parker, with a deal thought to be close despite West Ham’s late bid to keep the player.

Was this a media speculation that Spurs were certain of getting his signature?

why will it soften the blow exactly?? diarra is quality, parker is aveage but stood out at a two bob team that are dire. we have just wasted every oppurtunity presented to us to ascend into a top 4 team! it is our own fault, levy is power hungry pratt that thinks he can power broke exceptional deals; in reality he would argue for a week over 100k and end up missing out on the target altogether! This current obsession with buying barcelona academy rejects is just so he can deal with barcelona to boost his ego and make him feel big. The unwillingness to pay wages in the current market will always be a sever hinderence; why we have such a low salary cap compared to other teams in our position is a mystery, although i dont agree with the ridiculous amounts paid by some teams in the 200k mark. I think 120k for a World class player tops would still allow you to by most players that would improve our team. The failiure to pay good money for a World Class striker last January effectively undone all the progress we made the previous season. WHY? WHY? WHY?
we would have consolidated our position in the top 4 definately and now that City have come through and finished above us (which they wouldnt of had we not dropped so many points against bottom half teams at the tail of last season.) they will be unstoppable and have made our 4th position unobtainable. All our star players will want to go as they can blatantly see that with our current set up we will never move forwards. Redknaps persistance at buying average playes that he gets on with will never get us in the top 3, its a shame because we do genuinly have a few world class players in Bale, Modric, King, Van der Vaart, Sandro. Some of the rest are good players to have in your team like akotto, gallas – we have some for the future too – but with a couple more world class strikers we would have ascended, but our stubborness and reluctance to spend on players that would have made the difference has ruined the progress we have made. WHERE DID OUR CHAMPIONS LEAGUE MONEY GO FROM LAST SEASONS RUN????

..and levy you need to take what u can for the dead wood!!
CROUCH 9m stoke (bite their arm off!!)
PAVLYUCHENKO 10M (bite their arm off!!)
jenas, hutton, corluka, bentley, dos santos, khumalo, palacios, bassong!! GET RID ASAP!!!! accept anything will mount up and pay for 2 quality players!!

LEANDRO DAMIAO 18M – NIANG 6M (POTENTIAL WORLD CLASS STRIKERS WITH TIME ON THEIR SIDE – BRYAN RUIZ 8M (wants to come for us, brilliant technical player scores goals, versatile can play and score from the wing, also captain of his country)
M’VILA – 10M (AGE 21 DEF MID plays for RENNES and in the Current french squad)- A younger version of DIARRA who we have missed out on apparently due to our tightness.
Looks like we are determined to buy a CB and are competing with arse for CAHILL – Toppy at 15m but give the bassong as part of the deal should be an ok deal.

Thats about a 50m outlay for all the above (what chelsea paid for Torres – 1 player!!)
I believe the players above may fit into our crappy wage bracket if they are not outrageously greedy which is very common these days – lets face it!)but hopefully not – this 50m can be made on player sales – SO LETS GET BUSY!!!
